Re: where has all the work gone
I’ve been busy since early march, it went dead over the bank holidays but it bounced back soon after. Strange I’m the one who always moans that it is quiet.

Some years ago I was working in a house where the teenage son and his friend thought it would be funny to plug the machine back in while I was out at the van getting a part. The socket was behind the machine so it was not accidental. Lucky for me the pair kept laughing everytime I put my hand in the machine, I then noticed the machine had been pluged in. I had a word or two with the woman whos house it was, she said they were only messing about! I left the machine in bits and walked out.
It is so easy to walk back in without checking, now I look again everytime I leave the room.

Seconded, I can’t say that I like the new site. Sorry but since the change I don’t use it much now. I don’t find it that easy on the eyeballs.:hide:

The site looks good but I don’t like the orange font, hard on the eyes on a white background.

When I lived in London our neighbour had just bought a victorian fireplace it cost him a fortune. He moved it from the van put it on his drive with the help of three friends it was cast iron and very heavy. his friend went into the house he went back to his van to lock it.
He came back seconds later it was gone, nobody heard a sound or saw who took it. whoever it was must have moved at the speed of light.Re: You’ve gotta give it to D&G
Funny enough he refused to let me install the replacement dishwasher unless I took his old one away. I told him I had no space in the van as it was racked out, he went bl**dy potty, he said “Do you know who I am?”

I did a repair for him, he was bl**dy horrible. Not at all like the man on the telly, a right pain in the bum. All of our engineers who met him said the same about him.
I thought he had not been on the TV for a while, now I know why.

I never answer the phone out of working hours and the ringer is always off over the weekend. I had a call the other day from a man who’s machine door would not open. he called at 9.30 I told him we could call at around 11.00 He said have you not got anything sooner, it’s very urgent! 😯 When I got there it was an old man who was house bound, so why the rush? He told me he only does a wash every other week.
Impatient customer are a pain.

Yet another day no sign of my parts. Time now 7.00 pm looked at the parcel tracker it says card left. According to DHL I now have 3 cards and no parcel. I’ve had a single card from them.
Not happy.

I called Connect yet again this morning, and was told the box was returned to DHL card left. DHL are useless. Connect are no help and the girl on the phone did not give a jot about my late delivery. If this continues I will stop using Connect and take my business else where. 👿

I placed an order with Connect on the 13th, shown as dispatched on the 14th today is the 18th still no sign of my delivery. What are they playing at!

I’ve never had any problem with the workmate in 25 years, never taken a chunk out of a kitchen when using it.
It comes in handy for DIY at home too.

I never answer the phone out of hours, it’s suicide you only ever get aggro from late callers or the people who think you will drop everything and go out at 11 PM cos little Jonny’s school uniform is stuck in the washer.
When I first started working for myself, I used the home number to start with, soon got another line put in. I got a call at 3.15AM from a man who said,I hope you don’t mind an early call but your advert says call anytime! :rolls:
