Re: NO CALL OUT CHARGE… (So how exactly does that work???)

I ask people if they have used us before. If they have, no problem, I’ll just go out and except not to be d****d around.

If they haven’t then I’ll ask them the make of the appliance and problem before I tell them there’s a £10/£15/£20/£25 minimum charge for BER appliances, depending on how much of a waste of time the job sounds.

Or it’s a flat £25 call-out charge for any dishwashers.

Some people are mongs, and you have to spell it out for them, but that what you get for answering the phone yourself. If you have admin staff you can just tell them to listen out for ‘red-flagged’ words. Like “Indesit, stoves, diplomat, etc” 😉

I’ve just got a weight-lifting belt, like you’d see beefcake wearing at the gym. And I go to the gym every other day to strengthen my upper body, especially lower back.

If trips to the back-doctor could be paid for by the business, I’d be there every week, but they’re not apparantly :/ So I’m waiting till after me summer holidays for a spine MOT.

    My dad always told me…

“If a customer comes onto you, it’s probably because there’s cameras everywhere and you’ll end up on ITV. Especially with your looks!”

    Re: Ebay gem!

I get it all the time! 🙁

They buy it off ebay for peanuts, then I take £23.50 off them to tell them it’s BER. I wish I could say I’m sympathic, but I’m not! :innocent:

The best one in recent memoery, was a old lady that made her son drive from Hull to pick up a machine in Liverpool, to bring it back to Burnley. And it was a Ind WM103 with the drum snapped!

    Re: Thank’s Indesit

    I get a few every week…

“Me drya snot goin rowd! Can ya do the belt fer me?”

When i get there, nearly every cheapo, 12 month oldish, Herloni dryer I see will need rebuilding with the shaft/bearing/seals repair kit when they snap the belt. I do it for around £80, and most people get it done 🙂

Tis a nice lil earner, and there’s millions of them out there! The only problem is the stability of the m/c. When you take a side off (or even the top, it turns into paper machee; and it’s a pain to get the cabinet back to the original, non-scrapping shape.

BTW, I’m talking about the vented dryers. The condensors are just a ****ing mare to do any belt related job on! I’m still in shock from the last one.

    😆

He can still use the machine, it just has a violent door opening action!

In the meantime, he’s saving the pennies for a brand new m/c from me 🙂

    Re: tesco vacs

Do you mean companies that just do vac repairs/sales? I don’t see how any company that just does vacuum repairs can be sustainable? 😯

There’s one in my town, right in the centre, with hugh rent bills. Just vacuums, no other appliances. It gets sold on to a new mug every year. I’ve heard a rummor that the latest owener is making a loss every week, so he aproached the local ‘citizens advice beuro’ and they said…

“Don’t worry about it! Carry on running the business at a loss, and because your earning less than 11 grand a year, you can claim the working tax credit.” (Or whichever benifit it is).

    😯

So now, it’s like the government is subsidising my competetion, because they are s***! In a fair world, they would go out of business for being s***, and I would get more work! 😡 It makes me wonder why I bother being professional and good at my job, when I could be s*** and make more money 🙁 😥 🙁
