Cheers Nwar, but I think it’s a W/pool now.
The customer says he can’t find the instructions, but he swears it was Whirlpool for the spares. 😕
I think it might be 481928218469

Im gonna try them now.
They said…
Sorry Smeg do not make for Servis so we would be unable to help. British Gas took over the National Homecare contract – they were responsible for Servis. Perhaps they could assist. The only tel no. we have for them is 0116 2503105
BG ( 😆 ) said ‘Err….We’ll ring you back.’
I think the best course of action is to find the instructions for this cooker and see if there’s a parts telephone number.
I’ll keep you updated. It sure is exciting aint it?

I’ve noticed a niche in the market.
Old Hotpoint toploaders leaking down the power unit (when was the last time you fitted one of those?)
Couple this with a stupid kitchen fitter (the husband) and there’s a great need for washers that are only 23″ instead of 23.5″.
No?

ParticipantRe: Mad Customer
I’ve had the same thing with a sweet old dear putting the net-bag for tablets in the soap box. It got washed into the hose and chewwed up against the outside of the inner drum.
I’ve had alot a nutters today. Mainly people trying to sell me stuff. ‘Me washas broke mate. Will ya gimme a tenner fer it and pick up it up from me garden?’
Then I had a customer that phoned me, and asked me for a emptying valve!!!!
‘Do you mean a pump?’
‘No. The emptying valve.’
This went on for 5 minutes before I realised the machine was sythoning and he thought there was a vavle to shut off the pump.
A wonder what’s next! There’s another hour until 5 ‘o clock. 😀

Oi Bazza! Stop p-p-p-p-picking on the penguin!
Nobody is laughing at you penguin. We all knew you had rubbish prices anyway.
Alex said if connect made the playing field level, it would go up rather than down. I disagree. Even with wash-vac in apparent turmoil, electrue couldn’t get away with price increases, even if they had a monopoly. Because of places like this, they wouldn’t get away with it.
Like Martin says, we all have our little local (and national) companies that can always help us out. In the north me + penguin have TMS, and in the south you have…. :con: Anyhoo, if people want to put on the ‘braveheart’ war-paint and try and get rid of the different tiers, my one man army is ready to help.
ps. Good news for all you lucky Scots! TMS (registered charity) are moving back into Scotland in a big way. There’s even a rep.

Do you slow down to look at car crashes too?

ParticipantRe: The connections game! (Which tier are you on?)
All very true Martin, except I still think there are at least 3 tiers of prices before individual spares get discounted.
I suppose a good way to find a pattern would be to make a list of obsure parts that people won’t buy alot.
And the power of UKW can only get stronger and stronger! It’s just a shame the ‘bulk purchases’ thread seems under-used.

I’ve had a few of those fan motors, and believe me, I didn’t pay £62.17.
I find if you tell a rep how cheap you can buy the spare elsewhere, they will bend over backwards to beat a rivals price; but anyhoo, this thread is about the different tiers (if they exist) that we get for connections DVD and the website.
Thanks for the support Bryan. I wonder what conclusions will be drawn from this thread.

Good point! I didn’t think about different manufactuers. I’m going to add a Hoover/Candy, Electrolux and Whirlpool spare to the list.
Sorry to those that have already posted. Can you edit your posts please to cater for the extra spares.

Errr….before? Trade prices that come up using the global search. Do you get some kind of disscount for early settlement or summat?
I thought when you open connections or log into the website, the software knows your account and what price structures to present to you.

Thank you. Very interesting!
I’ll investigate further with items I buy regular.

I’ll take that as a back-handed compliment then, and just say the buttons are a nice touch and I’ll think they will work well. 😀 and if a surfer can’t figure out how to use the website now, they probably shouldn’t be on the internet.
