Re: A Real Bad day at work

Sorry to hear of your bad day Simon but I must thank you for the warning, As I was going to buy some canned air just for that purpose getting fed up with carbon dust up my nose when I try to blow it out. I suppose ironically that if you had left the plug in but switched off the static would have discharged to earth.

I have done 3 jobs for them, 2 write offs but they paid my call out charge within a month so would recommend them,They are a property management company not a work provider so no silly rates, In fact the job sheet allowed quite a high limit on repairs before authorization was required.

Take some small imperial sockets with you as the motor mounting nuts are non metric.

Strangely Enough I called to one of these beasties today with a Complaint of leaking. When I got there the customer had very kindly removed the machine and had it in his shed with all the panels off, water connected via the garden hose and plugged into a RCD power supply 🙂 . Wish all my customers would go to so much trouble… Any way suspecting leakage to from wash or drain pump was surprised to find both in good order, Only sigh of a leak was from a water break on the back of the machine which I put down to overfilling Cleaned out all the pressure system and the customer just called me and told me he had put it through 2 complete programs and not a drop of water to been seen. One happy customer 😆

Was it Chlorine gas used in the 1st world war? and If like me and Roly you’ve had a sniff of it it you would realize that it would not be a good way to die.

Not so much a dirty customer but a bit over zealous on cleaning. Dishwasher in a very hot conservatory and she must have filled it a large bottle of bleach as it was not draining and did,t want it to smell. Trouble was with that amount of bleach in a hot enclosed space it must of turned in to chlorine gas as when I opened the door I nearly collapsed with the fumes.

    Re: Hotpoint WD73 Tearing Clothes

The tenant showed me one the damaged items a torn sock but it did look like the hole had been caused by friction, ie overloading, She also stated that her partners best Giorgio Armarni shirt had been damaged, 😉 I asked her if she overloads the machine but of course she denied it. Was there not once a modified drum front panel kit available to decrease the seal/drum gap?.

Best way to save the old back! Give up bearing changes and tub out jobs. I did 3 years ago and haven’t had so much as a twinge since.
