Wasn’t there a story years ago about a Hoover engineers van being taken hostage by an irate customer and being blocked in the drive? From what I remember it was the same problem, He had to order a part and she was having none of it. No problem if you are employed, Call the boss and let him sort it,But for the sole traders what a nightmare.

Must say, That whenever I have used this method I have never had a call back, But Sometimes you can hear the foreign object being chomped up by the pump and usually the noise stops and the machine pumps out ok.
Just try it, Much nicer than having your head under a dishwasher next to a bowl of dishwasher soup 😆

Also works on Bosch tabletop D/ws and and basically any machine with the pump attached close to the sump if access is available.

I have been doing this for over a year now and have been 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} successful, But use a small length of coat hanger wire instead of a cable tie.

What do your engineers do? look for public loos? I don’t know of any in my area other than shops and public buildings, and you can’t park any where near them. I find that most customers offer me a cuppa, and are quite happy for me to use the toilet if I ask as they realise I am out all day and don,t have access to any facilities. I also get through a lot of tea during the day 😆

Thanks for that Dave will call them in the morning. Had the same situation with ASD, And found my account was still active after more than 10 years without an order. Found that there discounts are not as good as they were, But the stock availability was just as good as I remembered.

I know what you mean Brian, I have a couple of mates who who have been called, But as they are employed they thought it was great, 2 weeks off work on full pay, Cant be bad. I think self employed sole traders should be exempt.

I managed to be excused last year by writing to them and explaining that attending court for up to 2 weeks would cause financial hardship. I also stated that as I do emergency call outs for estate agents (which I do ) I could permanently loose a lot business if I were unavailable, They accepted this but stated I was excused on this occasion only and could be called again in the future.
