Just a word of advise if you are going to buy a modem make sure you get one with driver disks. Cos they can be a sod to set up sometimes ( personal experiance)

At the end of the day, What did this cost me? Part cost 4.99+ vat, I arrived at the job at 4pm fitted element and was home by 4.25 can you buy that much goodwill! My patch has many very large extended familys do a good job at a reasonabl price for one of them and you will never be short of work

Is a part replaced under the initial guarantee backed up by a following 1 year on the replacement? When I worked for Creda even the top management did not know the answer to this one , So they always gave in to persistent customers. Could be a bit of a gray area.

Just been to my last job today which was a case in point on this thread. Fitted a Cre 6204370 oven element just over a year ago 2 weeks over to be exact. Agreed as it was only 2 weeks out of gurantee I would replace it F.O.C. Done the job and not even a thank you! So I told her if this element fails again the guarantee is 1 Year and not one day over

Was the timer a Horstman Quarts Eco 7 timer? If so there is a microtemp between one of the switched supplys which can fail I cant remember the rating but it can be changed. Might be easier than swapping out the timer.
P.s do you also change imersion heaters?Goose

Yesterday I had a pig of a job changing a softner on a brandt D/W, Took 2 hrs as I removed the tank from the base and just as I was nearly finished the removable plate on the base fell out 👿 Thought the base was solid, Could have done the job in 30 mins A very senior moment
