Re: Part number or product code?

I bumped into one of the Connect reps the over day, And asked him why its difficult to get the orig part number off the web site. He explained that its company policy now to hide the manufactures numbers, but will still show some on mediator. Its to make it harder for us to shop around for better prices with other suppiers. I have noticed even with Masterpart that good part numbers are not always found on Pt no search, But are listed on model search 🙁

The machine is about 2 years old and the 85 No is:854585615600 but its definitely a Smeg. I know it crazy! Whirlpool branded, Made for Ikea but manufactured by Smeg 😕

Definitely Bosch, Have only seen one bearing failure on the Maxx etc, But plenty on later Zanussi,s. Plus I find them easier to work on.

Cheers Greg, Will mail on to cust. By the way this machine is the Muts. Total stainless casing even the the cabinet top weighed a ton, And when I removed the SS side panel was astonised to find that it had the nomal pressed steel side panel underneath 😮 Maybe a case of German over engineering, But I know which I prefer to work on.

I have made my working life so much easier by making the simple decision not to do any bearing changes for the last 2 years. If one of my customers insist on having the job done I have a mate who is willing to do any make as long as he makes £50 in cash, And he does a good job too.

Cheers Chris, I havn’t got a supplier who deals with Qualtex anymore so I have just applied to open an account with them. The Spareslink system looks like it could be usefull.

macmini We will have to agree to differ on this one as I could say a lot more about Comet and all the other sheds for that matter, but it won’t change anything.

macmini, Its possible the customers second choice was made on cost but but as he paid, I would think £350-400 for the Siemens which came with a full 5 year guarantee some one at Comet should have advised him that the Indisit was not the best choice of replacement. That was my point!

Re: Comet don’t you just love them?

Kwatt is correct THE worst are produced in China and Indist are very close 2nd. My point was how could Comet recommend an Indisit as a replacement when there must be loads of of much better models supplied without an Aquastop. In fact don’t most Bosch models come with a standard fill hose? Its easy for us as we know who makes what, But the punters don’t They have to rely on sales people who know squat and and don’t give a toss about what the customer wants and needs.
