    Squadman.

Took you advise and ordered a CK Soft bag, Great buy got it for ยฃ24+ from my local Lecy Wholesalers. Best thing is that I store it in the passanger foot well between jobs and saves me going to the back of the van every time i get to the next job. Plus no damage to to doors and door frames ect. Well impressed. Cheers

Re: Why “pull the plug” ?

I am sure most of us have had a belt at some point in our careers, But one I was on the end of late last year made me change my working practises dramatically. After fitting a dryer fan motor to an old Softwave Hoover I thought I would check that the elements were working by touching the heater box rather than going to the van to get my clamp on amp meter Big mistake, As for some reason the metal heater box is totaly isolated from any metalwork and not earthed the element had gone down, And I happend to touch the cast iron hotplace of a cooker at the same time. If the property had’nt had a sensitive RCD fitted I would not be here now.

    Model No:786SW E50
When I called the Ilford number it was answered by what sounded like an Asian girl who didn’t know what I was talking about and gave me a number in Barking (Essex). I called the number but after talking to someone for two minutes I wish I hadn’t bothered, Nether of us could understand a word we were were saying to each other ๐Ÿ‘ฟ
I normaly would not bother with this sort of job but its for a Letting Agent
who gives me a lot of work

    Hi Bryan
No switch on this model! Its a bit embarrasing as I worked for Creda for 18 years but can’t for the life of me rember how the light is activated on this set up.From memory on the early Concepts the light was was triggered by the pilot light terminal of the energy regs and by the neons on the ovens.
