    Re: Connections DVD

Following on from my first post on this subject I now find that due to inactivity on the DVD system I would have to re register with connect to carry on using it. It looks like Connect want to force all of us to use the web based system and save them money,I do so wish there was a viable alternative for But for the moment I am stuck with Connect as they are the only suppliers who can afford to hold the stock. I try to use other suppliers when ever possible But as a case in point, Tonight I checked availability of a simple Hoover door hinge 91700103 with Masterpart,Came up as a special order and as I have found over the years that my customers will not accept a 10 day wait for their W/M to be repaired.

Great site Tom I have finaly found out what one of these is called

Wax Motor? I really didn’t know that, I have always called them a PTC Devise

Sites gone straight in to my favourites.
Prices in dollars seem a bit steep ( Are they part of Electrue?)

    Re: Hotpoint TC71 foam seal

I went to my first T/D of this range today.Same fault, Felt seal had come adrift and seized the drum I knew that the heater & stats came complete with the heater box but didn’t know the seal was not available as a spare. The Machine is 18 Mths old and other faults found:

Front panel not secured to to the side panel with correct sized screws
    Motor fan fouling back panel
    One bearing pad missing
    Belt Fraying
    Very Noisey.
All in all the biggest piece of junk I have ever come across

    Well done hotmerloni
You have turned one of the best T/Ds (Creda) in to a pile off scrap

No wonder its hard to make a living in this game any more 👿

I only did report jobs, After floods or fires. Just had to commiserate
with the customer, Carry out a safety check and write a quick report . Easy Money. Would have carried on doing work for them but work load keeps me busy in my own area

I have been using Blootooth for a couple of years now and find it very good, But have heard a few rumors that some road safety campaingers want to ban there use even to include full car handsfree kit.

I will always remember going to a Mr Pratt who insisted it was an old english name which should be pronounced as ‘Praar’. No he was Mr Pratt

Re: How much do you think a Hoover 3236 washer cost in 70’s?

    Martin

I hope your employment lasted longer at Barnes & Avis then mine did at Rumbelows ( about 6 weeks) Long story 😳

But in one respect it was the best job I ever had because while I was working there I got talking to a Hoover engineer who called to arrange uplifts on some faulty machines, Liked the idea of a free van and applied to Tidas/ Creda. Nearly 30 years later still at it. Have to pay for my own van now.
