It was Alex & bobokines. Completely unintentional and likely to be the fault of that bitch Madam Stella. My apologies to you both

The most common elements I use are:
    WP 481925928583
    Mer 023884
    Cre 6224745

I have found that a lot of suppliers will sell them for under £7 if you shop around and they are Gen parts. As I have had early failures of pattern Elements in the past I try to to stick the the genuine items only. The one that annoys me is DST3192085102 which Connect do for £26.

Be carefull with this one as Part P may come into it if you alter any wiring at the CU. I do a lot of replacement showers but since Jan 05 I will only replace like for like if the cable is 6mm. Electricians prefer to run 10mm cable with any unit over 8.5kw and most fit an RCD which to my reading of Part P only qualified sparks can do. You could do it all your self and pay a sparks to test and certificate the installation but round here thay are charging up to £125 for 30min work!

If you have it, Someware on the DST DVD there are instructions for testing hotplates it involves heating a measured amount of water and measuring the temp rise in a given time.

After all the years I have struggled to remove and clean out the manifolds I had the perfect tool on the van! Its a Pango compressed air drain cleaner I just adapted the nozel to take a lenth of P/switch tube attached this to the exsisting P/switch tube with a butt conector let the tub fill with a few inches of water and give it a blast. Even better on the built in models you can remove the lower plate and attach the tube straight on to the manifold. Works a treat

Dave, I didnt have the time to do a breakdown of the prices but the fact that they listed HSE prefixes for the hoses ( Which are Connect pattern hose numbers) made me wonder. Thats why I asked for comments. And digital cables! I would have thought a heater and pump would have been more usefull.

Iadom, The microswitch is operated by a small rod which is pushed by the bung as it is turned to the lock position it sounds like it has seized. From what i remember if you remove the switch you can get to the rod and fre it up with WD40
