    Re: OK you clever dicks!

This could be good news for me as I do a lot of small plumbing jobs as well as appliance repaires, And I have a “Pango” the compressed air gun for unblocking drains so with a bit of extra umph with the pango might get a return call to remove the eco ball from the drum’

    Re: Parts finding software.

Everyone should have a look at Genspares of Colchester http://www.genspares.co.uk A good site for identifying parts from model numbers and there prices are among the best I have found for most gen and Pattern spares Also the part numbers seem to be more up to date than our friends from Brum And they are a nice bunch to do business with.

Re: vauxhall astra van or estate 1.7 td year 2000

I have found this thread very interesting as I was thinking of changing from escorts to a Vauxhall Astra later this year Is it just the diesals or do the petrol versions suffer the same engine problems?

Thanks for all the replies I once tried the homespare kit and found it to be a pile of C**P. Called the customer tonight expalined the situation and he told me to order the parts evan at the £175 I quoated him. Mind you this cooker is 10 to12 years old cost £700+ when new and is in superb condition so the cost of ownership over life of the appliance has been quite low.

    Re: Dear BSH Man

Finally got back to this job yesterday, explained that it would proberly need a new chamber but I would have a go at drilling a small hole and try to clean out the small chamber at the top of the outlet tubes. Much to my supprise it worked! sealed the small hole and he gave me an extra £20
I would not have made so much if I had fitted a new unit.

    Thanks for all the advise

    Re: Tax question

Phidom I have always thought that vans and any type of car is treated differently by the tax man that’s why you see many 4x4s with sign written spare wheel covers or no side windows so they were classed as vans rather than cars also that if you drive a company van you get taxed about £500 pa but if you have a company car it can ad up to most of your tax allowance
