l When an error occurs, this function starts to keep generating error melody sounds and displays error indicators as
shown in the followings per corresponding error by blinking in 0.5sec interval until the error status is completely cleared out.
In this case, all the driving devices are turned off until the error is cleared out.
    1. WATER SUPPLY ERROR
    – Display shows ‘ E1’ .
    – Water Supply Error occurs when water level frequency does not show changes more than 100Hz or water is not supplied
up to the water level presetting for 20 min or more at the time of initial water supply.
    – The error status can be cleared by turning POWER S/W OFF and resuming the POWER ON initial status.
    2. WATER DRAIN ERROR
    – Display shows ‘ E2’ .
    – In case the water level frequency is 25.5KHz or less in the initial phase of UNB-detecting cycle.
    – Water Drain error can be cleared by turning POWER S/W OFF and resuming the POWER ON initial status.
    3. OVER-FLOW ERROR
    – Display shows ‘ E3’ .
    – Over-Flow error occurs when the water level is in abnormal operation. It can be cleared by turning POWER S/W OFF.
Water is drained prior to POWER S/W OFF and it is forced to be drained for 2 min if a frequency of more than 25.24
    KHz is detected.
    4. DOOR OPEN ERROR
    – Display shows Ed
    – Door Open error can be cleared by closing the door.
    5. UNBALANCE ERROR
    – Display shows ‘ E4’ .
    – Laundry load is unbalanced; loosen any tangled laundry.
    – If only one item of clothing needs washing, such as a bathrobe or jeans, the final spin result might be unsatisfactory and an
“ E4” error message will be shown in the display window.
    – Unbalance error is cleared by POWER S/W OFF and by resuming the POWER ON initial status.
    6.WATER HEATER ERROR
    – Display shows ‘ E5,E6’ .
    – In case the water temperature rises by 7°C or more in 1 min. or by 2°C less in 10 min after heating is started.
    – It can be cleared by turning POWER S/W OFF.
    7. ASS’ Y PRESSURE S/W ERROR
    * Generated Frequency Signal of WATER LEVEL(W/L) S/W (KHz)
    – If the same signal as the above table is detected for more than 5 seconds, it is a PRESSURE S/W Error.
    – When the error occurs, water drain pump will operate for 3 min. and then turn off the water drain pump.
Then the display shows ‘ E7’ indicating a pressure s/w error indicator.
    8. ABNORMAL WATER TEMPERATURE ERROR
    – In case the water temperature is 50°C or more in Delicate and Wool course.
    – At the time of initial water supply, if the water temperature is not appropriate, water starts to be drained
and it is forced to be drained for 2 min when the abnormal frequency of 25.24 KHz is detected.
    – Display shows ‘ E8’ .
    – This error can be cleared by POWER S/W OFF.
    9. WATER LEAKAGE ERROR (E9)
    – Water Leakage error occures when water is drained naturally after washing program starts.
    Course Water Temp
    Delicate 50°C or more
    Wool 50°C or more
    Level Low Level High Level
    Abnormal W/L Frequency 30.00 KHz 15.00 KHz

im sure people do these things all the time.. thats why machines are like they are

ahh halcien days, reliable mechanical timers, good quality enamel tubs with decent bearings

motors that werent 3 phase and didnt blow up as soon as you switch them on

theings werent that bad 15 yrs ago 😥

i understand your concern , but your old fridge would have run on r134a , and your new one on r600

honestly, its nothing to worry about, a lot of fridges make that noise, and nothing in my post was aimed at you.

when you turn the knob on your fridge, it could well be up to 15 mins before it switches of, since its much more exact

good luck with it.. and, if your not sure, you could always call hotpoint out, just be wary that if they find no fault, they more than likeley will charge you

    Hi

Some refrigeration products do make a gurgling noise for a while but these do normaly settle down. I doubt very much if a dent in the side would cause this problem as the compressor is located at the bottom on the rear of the appliance.

If it is only less than a week old you do have a returns agreement with curry’s you can reject anything within the first28 days. I wouldn’t bother contacting hotpoint I would go back to the retailer.

thanks, like i say im also concerned that the control button doesnt clcik it on or off like the other did, surely if i clcik down to 1 and its at 3 ths should turn the motor off, and again if motor is not running at three and i turn it to 5 it should force the motor on?

and no, since the old thermostat idea isnt widely used anymore, working usually on thermistors with electronic control, it may well take some time to turn the motor off.. you wont hear a click

    its all controlled by pcb

you really are one of a kind arent you?

is it normal practice for machines that are not faulty to be exchanged?

you cant just reject things under 28days, unless of course, they are actually faulty!

AND if it is the case, would the customer be expected to send the £20 back to hotpoint?

now, the facts… change in refrigerant gasses, more combustible and less of it in the same size system, creates unusual noises.. this can include gugling, however it isnt a fault

so where next? keep on exchanging it?

because, trust me , a new one wont be any different

be reasonable when you quote things

its a good point, and your right

but, what do people do? do theyre suppsed to power off when changing lightbulbs… dont they turn the switch off to change a house light?

i see where your coming from, but there really isnt an argument at all.. we always recommend unplugging before commencing any work
