you got a leak somewhere… thats why its going into antiflood mode
could be from anywhere, or it could be overfilling.. id really have to advise calling someone out to that, its not an easy task
but if u do look, dont work live, always with the power off, of course

bit vague.. is it frost free? is it american style.. we really need to know
something either damp or down to earth, and thats usually the compressor, or condensation in the thermostat housing (if it aint frost free)or even a defrost heater if it is frost free, could really do with some info
could get complicated… might be an idea to call someone to it to be honestremember to always have the machine unplugged if your gonna investigate

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WD440
hmmm, first thing id do is take the display pcb off, and refit it properly.. quite often, people press the button to hard and the pcb becomes slightly dislodged, and wont operate
seen a few, but its more often the main board!
power off for sure… never work live
thanx

almost certainly the safety cut out situated on the back of the oven cavity
however, this could also cut in if the main oven stat goes faulty, as its there as a fail safe
if your gonna investigate, make sure its unplugged!!
hope this helps

ice doesnt just appear, there needs to be moisture there, which would often suggest introduction of warm air
would be nice if it did though, cos we’d all just put empty ice cube trays in, and theyd come out full of ice!!
‘not me.. i havent done that’
why do people ALWAYS say that.. it has be something introduced, so youve either put something in the freezer thats created a lot of moisture, or the doors gotta have been left open
id be shocked if a bosch engineer was confused.. they are hightly trained, and the appliances are of excellent quality.. and in refrigeration are second to none
hope this helps

penguin hit the nail on the head
change the evaporator cover, and your problem will be cured
there are other issues though, which customers sometimes appear blissfully unaware of
the drain hole being too small doesnt make the fan noisey.. its a build up of condensation, or in most cases excessive condensation , that causes the fan to go noisey, and often if not sorted out, stops the fan completely
how do we get excessive condensation?
leaving things uncovered in the fridge… vegetables , fruit, half eaten tins of beans.. anything that contains water
have u ever put a tomato in the middle of the fridge and left it there?
does it go wrinkly and deteriorates quickly?thats because ALL fridge freezers work on a process of evaporation and condensation, therefore, antything left uncovered/ open will naturally evaporate.. and since frost free fridge freezers use a fan to accelerate the cooling process, the moisture is removed quicker…
and where does all the moisture go? towards the fan and the evaporator, and excessive amounts WILL cause bad drainage
it does state in the manual that things should be covered, or in a food bag
moisture is the worst thing for a frost free, mainly because its water, and water FREEZES
yes ive personally been to some of these fridge freezers in the field, and certainly, almost everytime i opened the door of the fridge, theres been masses of salad, fruit, jellies , open cans etc , purely because of the size of the fridge
all i ever do is change the evaporator cover (cos believe me its a hell of a lot faster than defrosting the drain hole with a hairdryer) have a friendly chat with the customer as to better ways of aiding the cooling process.. and quite often i dont go back to them
hard to explain this really, and its a hard subject to talk to customers about, cos, as most engineers will tell youthe usual answer is … ‘not me – i dont do that’
i hope this helps… if we all repaired stuff free outside of guarantee, then no1 would have a job.. be fair, in todays climate, its hard to find an appliance which will give you a fantastic lifespan..
and throwing the word ‘watchdog’ at people no longer has the effect you think it has.. they got serious fish to fry these days.. they wont worry about a noisy fan in a samsung fridge.
thanx

so however you do it, it will cost you
i wasnt havin a go m8, you can have an 80ft vent hose, as long as its not kinked, it was only a suggestion… good luck with miele anyway

interesting this one
very unlucky that, being nailed for £70
its hard now for engineers in general, because there are people out there who call engineers for the slightest thing, and its increasingly difficult to be fair with people, especially since 85{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time, the solution is in the handbook
suggestion? since u admitted the vent hose is longer than miele recommend, are you sure the vent isnt being obstructed when its pushed into its normal place? its often the case that by pulling the machine out of its usual hole, you also remove any kinks/traps in the hose, which would explain why it showed no fault for the engineer
if you need to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure its the dryer itself, pull out the machine and put the vent hose out of the window, so u can visibly see the hose has no kinks, and make sure that while the dryer is running, that the hose is emitting warm, moist air. simply by putting your hand over the end of the hose
if the problem re-occurs when u do this.. then u have a problem, and as trilobite recommends, get onto miele and politeley insist that it just isnt right. ( shouting at csa’s on the phone, doesnt lead to better service, trust me)
im surprised a miele appliance is giving trouble, these machines just dont break down like others do, and faults that do occur are generally simple
hope you get sorted

oh i love this place
reading some of these posts cheers me up and makes me realise that my jobs gotta be safe
4 days to fix a dishwasher? only takes 2 hours to drop off a production line!
ill humour these people
if you wanna stop one of these dishwashers going into error 4 mode, stop usin those silly 3 – in – 1 powerball things
even beaumatic admit they foam up too much at times and lead to antiflood.. it only worked after four days cos the water evaporated from the base, not cos u arsed on with non existent filters
i wish i was so smart
