    Re: Big water user required

Heres an idea, buy a reconditioned machine from years ago, these machines will use up to twice as much a a new eco-friendly type washer,
make sure it is atleast 12 years old or so if not it may use less water.

Also look our for super rinse and higher water level options if you can.

They are fairly cheap around £145 and there is a shop local to me that does them with a 12 month warranty. There should be such a shop local to yourself!

The pulley at the ceiling is called a “Creel” up here in Yorkshire! By heck you’ve brought back some memories with one of those, my uncle had one many, many years ago!! 🙂

We do not have a DC17 over here. But we have a DC07 and the cyclone assy cannot be dismantled in any way! :rolls:

I am unsure on any other models, sorry 😳

    Re: caple like

All I can tell you is Caple do not manufacture anything, they buy in from different suppliers. E.g Washing machines made by Fagor and once saw one made by Siltal.
Also depends on the appliance, a washer may be made by another manufacturer than say a cooker!
I am not a washer engineer but when one sees your post they may know more than me! 8)

I have used the modern washers and their rinsing is usless, too little water, you cannot even see it and alot of machines only do two rinses? My Bosch about 15 years old does four with water one third up the door for each. 😀

I really feel it for your son, I know just what he goes through. I too was recommended to use non-bio and am still allergic to it. So I use biological Ariel, very good at removing emollients and skin creams. As I am allergic to the lot I might as well use the best cleaning powder.

I have eczema and dermatitis, both are irritated by bio and non bio detergents if not rinsed out properly! :rolls:

They must be a scam because they contain near enough the same ingredients bar the enzymes. Any detergent even Ecover etc. will irritate me! 😳

Luckily I have a very old washer that uses loads of water-about 100 litres per load, so it rinses perfectly.

    Re: Advice on washer/dryers appreciated

My neighbour has a Hotpoint washer-drier, and the the damn thing takes 2 and a half hours to dry half a load of towels, then she has the other half to dry! 👿

They really are bad, also fluff accumulates around the door glass and door seal and unless you remove it, it will go all over your nice clean washing! :rolls:
Miele do one, they know the fluff build up is a problem as the machine has a “Rinse Out Fluff Cycle”, it says run after every 2 drying loads.

Kwatt is right, do not buy one. They are not as good as seperate units.

They also use a hell of alot of cold water in the condenser unit. So they really are gready appliances! Very expensive to run. 🙁

Hope this is some use to you

    Hi Iadom

I do not doubt that for one second, what you don’t know about dishwahers is not worth knowing. Your knowledge will be breath-taking!!!
    🙂
I was only meaning not all dishwashers have a diverter valve.

Ours had the pipe blocked to the top spray arm, some one does not scrape plates in our house! So bottom one worked top one did not, also no-one cleans the filters either! 🙁 (Only me)!

    Take care

Re: SMEG DW1612C – No water coming out at the top

    Iadom

That is part of the plumbing on the machine!! Not all machines have these!

This valve may have something jammed in it, causing it to have a restricted movement, or not to move at all.

Also was repairing our Caremark dishwaher about 5 years ago, it had no diverter valve, the pipe just split in to directions, it was this pipe that had split causing it to leak, found it had no diverter valve completely by accident!!

Re: SMEG DW1612C – No water coming out at the top

Do you mean the there is no water coming from the upper spray arm? The same pump supplies the bottom and top spray arms.

If this is the case the top spray arm could have a blockage.

Please un plug the dishwasher if investigating! 😉

    Re: Who makes Caple ovens?

Some Caple washing machines were made by Siltal in Italy I once heard, the one that looks like the Caremark BI 1000X H/C! 😕 If that is true my mum has a Siltal washer, extremely reliable, 15 loads a week, 8 years old, always overloaded and still going strong, no bearing wear at all. Made very well.

Siltal make a whole range of kitchen appliances, they do make cookers but whether they made yours I would not know. One of those brands that buys in from different suppliers I think. 😕
