You didn’t answer my question which is important. Has your dryer had the safety modifications done?

You believe wrong, there isn’t one.

More to the point, has this dryer had the fire safety modifications done?

I wonder if they are still using them for the large load models?

Was more interested in it’s age, if it was only a couple of months old how come you where repairing it?

The way forward is for plumbers etc to be less incompetent. The’correct’ way is to fit the angled end to the washer, fitting the wrong way is just a bodge that often leads to leaks sooner or later.

The pulleys won’t have made a return on this dryer although you don’t give a model number. It will almost certainly be a Whirlpool clone which has always had the drum support pulley wheels on most models.
Not usually much of a problem on Whirlpool dryers TBH.

These are Whirlpool based dryers so Hotpoint fault codes may not apply. 🙁

    THIS might help.

The angled connector should go on the back of the machine, this allows the pipe to drop down from the back without being bent at right angles when the machine is pushed back.

    TN61 ????

My Hotpoint TL61 dryer will be 18 years old in November.

It has had one belt and a couple of jockey pulleys, everything else is original.

Motor bearings started to get noisy recently but after considering the alternatives I plumped for a new motor. Replaced the original plastic rear bearing and the foam seals whilst I had it stripped down, running as sweet as a nut now, good for the next 18 years. 🙂

What if anything have you checked?

Brushes, loose wiring or module connections etc.

Last model of this had three phase motor so full model number and commercial code would help.
