ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Aquarius DWF34
Bosch based machine, either the main circulation motor or the circulation pump on the end of this motor is seized.
Expensive repair if motor is faulty. 🙁

ModeratorRe: ISE W288 advice for door needed
Best to remove the door completely, then using a small thin, flat bladed screwdriver the two halves of the door can be prised apart. Start near the bottom of the door then if you do make any small scratches they won’t be visible when refitted.

ModeratorRe: bosch washing machine brush motor
Found the thick brown comm stick hard to find and the white chalky one to brittle, end up with several small useless pieces.
Have been using THIS recently and it cleans the comm really well. 8)

I only use gen brushes and charge the correct price for them. 😉

And I wouldn’t put Bosch alongside Miele. 😉
I still repair Hotpoint machines that are 15 to 25 years old but find that these days almost 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my calls to machines made in the last ten years are BER on first visit, mainly due to sealed drums or expensive electronics.

Very little is as good as it was. 🙁 Stands to reason, if the public want ‘cheap’ throw away machines then the manufacturers and the large retail outlets are only too happy to produce and sell them. No good to them if your machine lasts 15 to 20 years.
Your budget would have got you a very decent machine 25 years ago, now there is very little to chose as far as reliability goes in that price bracket.
I would opt for a Bosch over a Whirlpool every time but wouldn’t buy a £280 Bosch. 😉

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint DF22 leaking
Both baskets listed as available for the DF22, both over £100 each. 🙁 I suspect the Bosch ones won’t be much less even if you could identify the correct model.
Even if you have stopped the leak that regeneration valve is a potential hazard and should be changed.

Looks like correct one Dave.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint DF22 leaking
Agree with Dave, looking at the parts diagram the regeneration valve is listed as still available but at a hefty price, you would also need the sealing O ring kit.
Valve C00247586
O ring kit C00247505Part numbers 101 and 102 on attached diagram.

A very common element, Hotpoint, Creda, Belling, Jackson, Cannon, General Electric, Indesit etc.

Not really a new fridge freezer, produced between 2006 and 2009.

The tree huggers have a lot to answer for, it was to comply with ‘green energy’ considerations that the iffy cladding was fitted in the first place.
