ModeratorRe: Watercooled dryer!!??
It is not uncommon to get water pouring out of the back panel, usually a gunged up float chamber or badly blocked condensor.

I have both the tube version of the special tool and the one in the picture above, believe me the long bar with the two hooks is ten times easier to use than the tube on vented dryers.

Module is top right, at the front, looking from the front. If you run the tests I suggested, you could even bypass the ‘one shot’ for a few minutes and if the drying light is on as soon as you select a programme and before you press start, or when it reverse tumbles then I would stake your life on it being the module.

That the one, fantastic for the later vented dryers, a child could fit a belt with that, almost no effort needed. 8)

ModeratorRe: sat nav
Sat nav thieving is a big problem in the Manchester area, it doesn’t matter if you remove the cradle as well, they look for the tell tale ring from the sucker on the screen, and smash their way in to find it. I get my A to Z out about once a day at the most so it would be a waste of money, that said, is there any other way to fix these devices apart from sticking them to the windscreen?

Grrrr,
Just got trim and it is the wrong part. Error at Masterparts end. You enter 50210880006, click ADD and it shows a picture of the correct door trim ,white with eight screw holes, but the only option to order is their own number ZN-1702 which is the even older grey one without screw holes. 👿
My new copy of Spareslink doesn’t recognise 5021088006 either. 😥Help.
EDIT.

404 errors on Hotpoint/Indesit & Whirlpool links on ‘lost yer manual’ link.
Also in the first link about tumble dryers you list the stats, motor etc but don’t mention the heating element. 😉
Also at the bottom of that article preffered should be preferred.

Perhaps I’m just an old git but I prefer my maps, that is the good old A to Z, ex boy scout/army cadet. I just love looking at maps. After almost 40 years on this area I know it better than most taxi drivers. A sat nav would be a complete waste of time & money for me.
If I am driving to somewhere new, a long distance away then planning the route with the use of a good map is part of the fun. 😀
Don’t get me wrong, I am not a technophobe by any means but map reading and finding your way around is a skill that should be encouraged and kept sharp at all times.

Hi Cliff, hows things?
What fault symptoms did these machines display?

ModeratorRe: hotpoint dryer tdc62n
Very likely to be the dryness module faulty, sounds like the heater relay on the module has stuck. Easy way to check is to replace the stats then check to see if the ‘drying’ light comes on as soon as you select a programme, or if it stays on during short reverse tumble. Not a cheap module and EMW & QER do not repair these. 😥
Part number if required is 1702136, list price over £70 + vat. 😯
Not sure if anyone has successfully replaced a heater relay on this type of board yet.Jim.
PS. I assume you checked the condensor was clean. 😉

They do need treating with kid gloves, very easy to break the fixings on the control buttons.

Once you have isolated from mains you could try tipping it over fully onto its left hand side, looking from the front, place a few good sized towels underneath it first. You should be able to remove the base and at least do a visual inspection, check for signs of water on the base, sticking float switch or float microswitch.
