ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Drum
Never has been a complete assy AFAIK, outer drum inc bearings, drum support, inner drum & drum front, all separate parts. Together the list price of those items is £229.86 + vat. Take out the £78.05 for the inner drum and it still looks like a BER to me.

You will have to replace the stat or bypass it to check this.
Module is a 1602136, list around £67.00 + vat 😥 Unfortunately, QER & EMW do not repair these.Jim.

Faulty dryness module. ?
Does the heater light come on as soon as you switch on, before you press the Start button, does it stay on during the short reverse tumble ? I have changed a few modules on these with relay faults that keep the heater on all the time, it should switch off in reverse.

ModeratorRe: Another joke.
In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name.
For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of
Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called
Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.
The FDA has been looking for a generic name for V.i.a.g.r.a. After careful
consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that
it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were
Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid
form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for
use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour
himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink,
and it gives new meaning to the names of “cocktails”, “highballs” and just
a good old-fashioned “stiff drink”. Pepsi will market the new concoction
by the name of: MOUNT & DO.iadom
ModeratorRe: Sticking Detergent Compartment
The only way to be certain is to check if the small cover will flip open when you manually operate the small latch, there is a spring underneath the flap that often breaks. If that is intact then you have to remove the outer door panel and inspect the dispenser mechanism in action, some of the small levers & springs involved can break. If the whole dispenser is required there are two different ones, depending on the serial number. Unfortunately they are both over £50 + vat.
The machine is a Bosch so quite a sound model.
Please remove the plug if you intend to have a look and watch the edges of the stainless steel inner door, they are razor sharp.

Very sad isn’t it, but remember, the only thing ‘Hotpoint’ about this machine is the badge on the front, you actually have an 99.99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit machine 😥
If the water continues to fill when the machine is switched off at the mains then the fill valve itself is faulty. A local independant would almost cetainly be able to repair that for less than you will pay for the cover, this will also allow you to save up for something decent next time.

Sorry but no such machine has ever existed, the problem is that once a customer has paid out that sort of money they will expect the constant pump blockages and other ‘misuse’ faults to be covered as well. I have a 12 month old Hotpoint machine in a local hairdressers, I have had to unblock the pump/filter three times in 2 months, completely clogged with hair.
Just hope its not a Titan 😉

ModeratorRe: Ariston A1636 – lock doesn’t lock – washer doesn’t wash
It is possible that the spring inside the door itself that applies pressure to the door switch via the latch is faulty. This is basically a Hotpoint machine with Indesit electronics in it, it could be much worse, it could have been 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit.
This spring often fails but not usually as soon as this. Part number is 1604519. Remove the door complete with the hinge from the machine by unscrewing the hinge from the cabinet, then split the door and examine the spring, it has two long thin arms, one of these tends to break off. Failing that you may have a more serious electronic fault, I am sure that this machine is covered by a five year parts warranty, so don’t go overboard trying to fix it yourself.Jim.

Well it looks like I made the correct choice. REDS 3 Benfica 1. I am sure the Newcastle v Reading game was a good one to watch as well. I cannot think that anyone would be sad enough to watch that foregone dross served up by Arsenal & Porto tonight, come on Greg, please tell me you didn’t watch that load of tripe. 😥

“de,d,de,d,de,d,de,d,deeeeee ” say it fast enough and it will remind you of the sound of the cavalry coming to the aid of the wagon train surrounded by redskins 😆
I think Bob is on the right track, first thing to check is the sump hose and pressure switch chamber. I will dig out the diagnostics and get them to you ASAP.

ModeratorRe: Ariston Margherita 2000 – I also have a problem!
MKelly, if you dig out your instruction manual, you know the one, the thing you stuffed in the drawer without reading it properly on the day you got the machine. 😉 It will give you instructions in it to tell you how to remove and clean the pump filter. To be honest, if the operator of this machine had taken care to check all pockets and not wash underwired bras etc then this fault may not have occured in the first place.
