Re: Indesit WE14 – “door” error

Hi Donnacha, for AEG read Electrolux owned, Zanussi made appliances.

Have a read of this, in particular the LG/Samsung articles. Korean machines have a reputation in the trade for being all bells & whistles, up front flash. What we folk in Lancashire would call ‘fur coat & no knickers’ πŸ˜†

The ISE or mid to upper range Bosch are sound investments, if money is not a problem then Meile is the creme de la creme.

As for the best place to buy, cost alone should not be your ultimate goal, in most cases a local independant retailer/service operation will give you very competitive prices, fast delivery and expert installation, on top of this they will give far better back up than the faceless sheds and online retailers.

    As an instance of this.

Mr X rings Star Supplies today, “My machine ( Indesit) has failed again and I want to get rid of it, unfortunately my clothes are stuck in it with the water”. Star Supplies deliver an ISE machine later this afternoon, contact me by e-mail, I ring the customer and arrange to call first thing tomorrow morning to recover his clothes from the Indecent[sic] machine and install his new ISE washer. Star Supplies will call back later at no charge to remove his old machine.

    Need I say more.

Check the float switch, and float chamber, down at the bottom rear, sometimes this switch sticks.

Relay/PCB part number just in case is 1703616.

If only that were true, pump blockages are one of the biggest causes of problems on all makes of machine. This is due to careless, won’t check the pockets, I’m far to stressed and busy to do that, type of user that is often the norm these days. πŸ˜₯

The biggest cause of problems on Indesit machines is just about everything from very unreliable electronics, thin stainless steel or completely sealed plastic outer drums, weak drum supports, bearings, pressure switches etc. Sometimes worn motor brushes can effect the controls as well.

It does sound like it may be a control fault, the Indesit engineers have dedicated software on their laptops, they can plug this into the test port at the back to fault diagnose, sadly this software is not available to the independent trade.

There are a number of things that blow the (Β£75+) control board, common ones are the motor, the door lock & wiring chafed on the lower concrete balance weight. If this machine is under 5 years old it is still covered by the manufacturers parts warranty, you would only have to pay the labour, not cheap at just under Β£90.00 but it sounds as though the parts alone will be more than this.

Brilliant, it has always annoyed me on my W/S lappy. The left hand pane displays correctly but the bottom box in the right hand pane has half of it missing and there are no scroll bars to move the lists up.

    Thanks very much.

The fault on your WMA9 is a very common PCB fault.

Thanks Alan, funny thing is when I enter the part number on that list you sent for a ZDF866 inner door, 3578127072 into the Masterpart site it lists it as OLD, an comes up with the number I had already identified on TDS as a 3578127262 πŸ˜• Out of stock anyway and POA so I have no idea of price but she insists she wants it changing.

    Re: Indesit WIDL 126-washer dryer

Morning, as far as I am aware the well documented conversion kit is for the Hotpoint W/Dryer that has been corrupted by the fitting of the Indesit dryer assembly. The fault could be stats, elements or wiring. There have been some alterations to the dryer box and concrete weight. Exact serial number is required to ID.

The only way to find out what is at fault is to check all the components involved with a multimeter, meggar or similar….with the mains plug removed of course.

Are you thinking of the famous Flatley dryer. http://tinyurl.com/ylsbfc

We had one at home, one of John Bloom’s ( remember Rolls Rapide twin tubs ) ventures. I can remember being at school and seeing the light aircraft towing a banner with MUM WANTS A FLATLEY on it. πŸ˜€

I did notice the speed difference, and after my Sunday game of squash ( played four times in five days due to helping out a mate) and having my tea, I was going to have a look at the whois and IP & server info for the ISE site. You have just saved me the trouble so I will have another Southern Comfort & Dry instead. 8)

Digital display panel on these ( I have the exact same model) error codes , not flashing lights.

Like P45 I can see no reason whatsoever that you could not use the machine at once after a bearing change. πŸ˜•

    Re: Testing 1, 2, 3…

Old stuff I know, but it still needs tidying up.

From the ISE website, The Environment

‘When the machine it does reach the end of its life, ISE strive to limit the environmental damage by collecting the carcass and taking it for refurbishment and recycling by community organisations such as Create in Liverpool . This life to death responsibility already complies with stage two of WEEE which won’t be law until 2013 at the earliest. ISE have chosen to comply now for moral reasons rather waiting until it is a legal obligation.’

Also there is a missing ‘than’ on the last line that should be between rather & waiting.
