You obviously saved the pic for internal distribution first though. 😆

Unfortunately I cannot. I have absolutely no idea as to your level of competence, so for safety and legal reasons, cannot possibly go into chapter and verse. I do hope that you don’t take offence but if you cannot work out how to get the top off, you shouldn’t be trying.

I fully appreciate the financial implications but I would not want to pick up my morning paper to read that someone had burnt the house down or electrocuted themselves as a result of information given on this web site.

There are other sites without the same standards that we try to maintain.

what about changing the relay, I’m sure CPC will stock a suitable replacement.

Would be very interested to know what the ‘knock on effect’ is other than requiring a new board. Have you seen evidence of other damage caused by the ‘blob of solder’ fix to anything other than the board itself Alex?

I assume you mean halogen elements not bulbs.

Access to the hob elements is not really a DIY job, requires side panels etc to be removed.

Re: Indesit WIDL 126 error codes 1+3

Buttons 1+3 supposedly indicate a fault in the water level control/pressure switch area. However if the facia module has had water on it then it could be causing spurious messages, the pressure switch is nowhere near the front console.

The best advice I can give is to see if we have someone in your area who can take a look, click the link in my sig.

Please remove the mains plug if you intend to go further yourself.

    Re: ariston margherita 2000

Nothing to see taking the front off. 8 flashes is one of the most difficult to trace/rectify. It is supposed to indicate a fault on the control module related to the heater but long and very bitter experience often shows that it can be one of several components, or a combination of them, loose contacts etc, etc.

One reason why lots of people in the trade run a mile when they hear the dreaded words “eight flashes”

Due to the high cost of the control module I would advise seeking expert help. Try the link in my sig and please be sure to remove the plug if you intend to proceed further.

Thanks Andy. As the machine appeared to run perfectly, I left the module in and asked the customer to run it for a few days before I invoiced her.

    Will report back either way.

Even under a magnifying glass the displaced module looks perfect on both sides.

Re: Hotpoint Dishwasher Model DF42 Error Code

These dishwashers are a facelifted version of the 7882/7883/7885 series produced over 12 years ago, it is possible that FIA may just be a corrupted display that could actually be E1 plus another random figure. The only fault codes listed in the manual are E10.E11.E21 & E22.

There are 5 service programmes used for running diagnostics checks but that is best left to a qualified engineer, failure to observe the correct procedure can result in overfilling etc.

NB. E10 is a fill time out ( it has not filled or emptied ) within five minutes
E11 is a heater time out fault ( it has not reached the required temp in 45 mins)

Are you volunteering. 😀 to be honest I don’t think it would make much difference, I mean how clear do the forum details need to be.

Possibly better if we send a quick PM when we move the more obvious ones perhaps.

PS. The age thing is all about standards. 8)
