What is so difficult to understand about ‘Trade Spares’
I have just moved several posts from the General Trade & Tech forums that are just simple spares/part number requests, surely it isn’t that hard. 😥

Chances are that the lower priced ones of these will also have the dreaded sealed drums, not much use being better than the Indecent Companies offerings if a sock or coin is jammed in a impossible to remove place requiring a complete drum change 👿

ModeratorRe: Indesit dishwasher (DV620)
Mains filter, a legal requirement I’m afraid, the neighbours may not like it if it interferes with their reception but to be honest there isn’t a lot of interference from a dishwasher.
Unfortunately I cannot see that part on the official parts diagrams or in the parts list. 😥
It shows the mains cable and you would expect the filter to be next to it but there is nothing. That said, a lot of more recent washing machines have a mains cable and filter combined but this is not listed as such.
Hopefully one of the helpful people who are privy to more restricted information 😉 may come to your assistance. In the meantime I will keep looking.

ModeratorRe: Mental Block?
In the days when fridge door liners where fixed with 30 to 40 screws and the insulation was glass fibre, the metal door was like a Rolf Harris wobble board on its own so I used to remove the door from the cabinet and place it flat on the kitchen table if I had to replace a cracked door liner, otherwise it was very difficult to get it square. I did this one on a very large door, only to find that I had screwed the door liner on upside down, for some reason that even to this day escapes me I removed the mass of screws and refitted it only to find that I had done the same thing again, no electric drivers in those days.:clown: 😳

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint WMA drum pulley cut into drum?
No, metal pulley, well away from drum. As I mentioned it was not easy to get to get much sense out of this customer due to the poor English so I was unable to establish any details of previous repairs. Outer drum looks original though, no evidence of drum change. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with me or I would have taken a piccy.

ModeratorRe: How old is……
1852 is a facelifted model of the 18580, in that case it is Oct 1985 production. I still have all the manuals if you need them. 😉 🙂

Just this afternoon, fitted a set of motor brushes to a Hotpoint 1827 date code 11 or in real money, November 1978, I have been going to this machine for the past 20 years, fitted the odd door seal, pump & about 15 years ago changed the horrible EMD motor for a GDA one which had a set of brushes 7 years ago, the backplate hasn’t a mark on it. after well over 27 years.
I reckon yours is Oct 1977, If it has the Amythsyt (Purple) door.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint WMA58 stopped working
Every thing is easy with the correct skills, you should ask any person you intend to invite in to fix your machine what his/her charges are. Any reputable firm will be only to glad to tell you. As I said in my first post the cost of a new pump is not excessive and it may just need unblocking.

It does sound as though you may have something in the pump itself, bra wires, small pieces of wood, nails, screws, hair bobbles, bits of plastic curtain hooks and other such rubbish left in pockets can all work their way past the filter and into the pump itself.

funkyboogy wrote:.building up a htp wm, and forgeting to put that stress bar thingy back on…
Done that on several occasions, the worst one I can think of is doing a Power Unit change on a Hotpoint top loader, built it back up , refitted cabinet and was just about to put the back panel on when I turned round to find the inner drum on the floor behind me. 😳

It is possible that a foreign body has moved from the drum into the drain pump. You can drain the water out by lowering the grey plastic outlet pipe into a washing up bowl or similar. The pump itself is not too expensive on these machines and replacement or simply unblocking should not break the bank. Try the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help you, please be sure to remove the plug if you intend to investigate further.
PS. I always tell my customers ( even if some take no notice ), there is very little to ‘service’ on a modern washing machine, but a leak or a noise should be attended to immediately, :lesson:

ModeratorRe: ISE website
I thought that it would be something like that, however the ISE website is open to the WWW as a whole, and if I was a virgin punter wanting to buy one of the machines, I would look at the website, locate a local dealer, then wonder why he was asking me for another £60 when the official web site states that the machine is covered fully for five years.
A small point but one which needs clarification IMHO.
PS. Ken I do hope you mean 5+5, not 5×5 😆
