    Re: Welcome Iadom

I really must apologise, am I the only one who has unintentionally edited a post when I intending to quote. 😳 The buttons are so close together and I’m sure the edit button is roughly in the position that the quote button was before Monday. ( At least thats my excuse)

Must try and stop doing three jobs at once.

    I promise to try harder.

I have done for several years now.

From HM Customs & Revenue web site.

‘Motor vehicles and other assets used for business and private purposes

If you use the same vehicle for both business and private purposes, you should keep enough details to enable you to split your total expenditure between business and private use. Usually it will be enough to keep a record of business and private mileage and split the vehicle running costs in the same proportions.

There may be other assets that you use for both business and private purposes, for example, a house or shop premises that include a flat. If so, you will again need to keep sufficient records to work out what expenditure relates to business use and what to private use. ‘

    Re: Robbing Barstewards

Hmm, my online banking with Barclays is one of its best features. The Abbey account does seem a little limited in that respect. I can do all my online transactions from my own accounts page, paying bills online, transferring money into my other accounts with Barclays or other outside savings accounts etc, plus I can pay money into my local branch without any ATM restrictions. I pay Masterpart. DS Supplies , QER etc, plus all my household utility and credit card bills online.

I do not do any work for agents but the local authorities and one major estate agent that I do work for, both pay me via BACS.

Just had a quick look at Abbey, can you control your account online, I pay virtually all my bills that are not covered by DD or SO, online. My cheque book lasts me for years these days.

    Re: Tracking your mileage.

My accountant and the taxman have been quite happy with a simple mileage record.
I just use a plain lined book and record closing mileage at the end of work, then opening mileage the following day. I write all my calls in order then record the mileage as I arrive at each call.
Never had a problem from the Inland Revenue, other than the nasty bills they keep sending me. 👿

I use an estate car for both work and private use.

    Re: Robbing Barstewards

I phoned Barclays on the 14th, for some reason I cannot phone my local branch anymore 😥 but have contact Leicester, I think I was actually speaking to someone in India. They promised to look into my problem and said ‘my local business manager’ would contact me. the following day I was indeed phoned on my mobile by a Mr Cole speaking from Oldham 😯 . When I suggested that from now on I would have all cheques made out to myself rather than my business, then pay them into my personal account and then transfer them online into my business account as and when needed he sounded at bit flustered and promised to look into my ‘arrangements’ and get back to me. I await his call. 🙂

    Re: Indesit WD12 drainage/noise problem

What on earth is that four legged thing? Its making my neck ache trying to view it the right way round, it could be part of the moulding of the pump housing, but I don’t think it should be there.

There still appears to be something black behind the impellor, unless it is a shadow, or possibly the water residue.

    Edit. 😳

Have you tried running the pump without water and with the filter removed?

    Re: Indesit WD12 drainage/noise problem

Agree with Martin, there does appear to be sometihng stuck inside the pump at 12.00. Part of it looks like a plastic curtain hook. There is definately something behind the top blade of the impellor as well in that picture.

    Circled in red.

    Re: Elica cooker hood

Customer says go ahead. 🙂 Best to order all just to be on the safe side, the motor is OC, but the other bits are so cheap its not worth the risk of them breaking when I remove them.

    Thanks.

    Jim.

PS. Let me know how you want paying, apart from ASAP. 😉
