Remember, you can get a complete motor to module wiring harness for just over £3.00. part number 1603396. I always carry one with me as they are so inexpensive.

My pleasure, I cannot claim to have the full set of manuals but most of the popular ones. 🙂

I’ve never been garnished before, is it pleasant. 😆

    My statement used to read

    Automated Entries @£0.45
    Standard Entries @£0.64
    Maintenance fee £7.50

    Now it reads.
    Non Automated Debits @£0.59
    Credits paid in @£0.75
Cash paid in @£0.55 per £100
    Cheques paid in @£0.28
    Statements posted @£0.95
    Unpaid Cheques inwards @£2.00
    Account Fee £9.00

I remember those drums, you had two different types of slide, either the original large flat metal thing or the later black tubular frame that you had to wedge down the side of the drum before you dragged the whole of the guts out of the machine. All the ex English Electric engineers that joined BDA where big blokes except one wee chap from Broadbottom called Bob Stoddart, I often used to wonder how he managed a drum change, turns out he used to take his wife with him to help to drag the beast apart. 😀

When I was young it was the size/score of your conker, how many pancakes you had eaten on Shrove Tuesday, later it became how many pints you had supped the night before., then the female of the species came along and scoring took on a whole new meaning 😈 I guess we all have to grow up, just takes some a little longer than others. 😉

I wish I could find the post from a couple of days ago, it may have been from someone else, possibly a Merloni employee mentioning a method he had devised. I find that in my case you can always teach an old dog new tricks. 🙂

Re: Here’s a tip for you

I have had some excellent trout from a keen fisherman, many bottles of wine etc, one last week was out of the ordinary. I had a call from one of my Asian customers, have done the families machines for years. I actually went to this machine and advised them to get Hotpoint in as it was under 5 years old, WMA with bearings shot. Hotpoint went with the drum but the engineer refused to do the repair because of a small amount of mice droppings on the floor behind the machine. Having worked for several years in my youth on a farm, I can take things like this in my stride, especially when I am being paid. 😉 It is rare to get any tips from people in this area but I was given a £10.00 tip and a bar of Norwegian chocolate 8) . very nice it was too.

I don’t think that anyone would be clever enough to check on the stats and find a suitable alternative now, would they, 😉 🙂

OK. I’ll scan the DF22 stuff and e-mail it to Alex. Don’t have a dedicated fax machine, just the PC fax.

Even if the clock fails it should still be possible to use the cooker manually without the auto timer.
    Enjoy your turkey. 🙂

    Re: It’s working perfectly but…

So right Bob,….customer ” my machine needs a service”, me ” whats wrong with it”, customer, “nothing, it just needs a service”, me “If it is working fine then there is little or nothing to service”, customer, “oh, well it is making a very strange noise, and leaking a bit” 👿

They somehow think that if they have a ‘service’ it will cure everything at very little expense.
