Have to disagree, the condenser aperture is too high off the ground and far too narrow for any Hotpoint based dryers that I have seen.

The main (weak plastic ) control knobs are often prone to breaking on these Indesit machines.

Two different knobs depending on colour.

More likely to be a new machine, does the drum appear to run a little off centre? Very strong possibility the drum support has fractured. 🙁

Looking at the nearest model wiring diagram that I have to that model and all others in the same range it does point towards a faulty door micro switch.
