On my version of PF it comes up as item number 95. Switch pack/Main oven. Part No; 6222148 price £12.32 ex vat.

DOH. I’m looking at main oven control. Well it is late and playing squash in this weather earlier has dehydrated my brain. 😳

Hotpoint Tumble dryers do not start with 95 thats a washer, old Td’s are 93 I should have a wiring diagram if you can give me correct model.
In the meantime I will look up 9318.

EDIT. Have found what you need 😉 You will have to PM me your e -mail address again, I have been having a few PC/memory/display problems and reinstalled my graphics driver, only to find that for some reason it had wiped all the mails in my inbox and also removed a couple of special folders in Outlook Express. even System Restore could not retrieve them. 👿

After you have removed the mains plug!!!!

Take the back off the machine then if possible tilt it forwards and lean against a wall or the kitchen units. Get a low bowl and some towels. You will see the pump which will have one large black hose and one grey plastic hose on it. Place the bowl underneath and if you can remove the black hose from the pump you may find your obstruction in there.

Think you are correct, have brought the bearing spider home and just knocked out the bearings, a Qualtex BKT80 looks more like it with a single seal.

I think that if any customer pressed Hotpoint on this matter then Hotpoint would capitulate in every instance.

Re: Creda reversair L – squeaked alot then went cold!!

The fan is attached directly to the motor on this machine, so the drum would not be revolving if motor was failing, squeaking is mostly caused by jockey pulleys or rear drum bearing, not the main motor. The stat and/or the microtemp will more than likely have failed with age.

    Re: Zanussi ZJD1285

Just been back to this machine, customer has been away, removed both pressure hoses and machine went into spin perfectly. No large amounts of gunge in chamber but a couple of coins in the main filter/pump assy that had got past the filter cage, wonder if these are blocking the chamber and causing the problems. I think the design and acccessability of the Zanussi pressure chamber/pump filter assy is one of the most hateful ones that I have ever come accross.

Unfortunately the main bearings have failed. does anyone know the Qualtex part number of the bearing kit for these, is it BKT27 or BKT 48 ?

Are you sure about that Ariston model number, no LS162 listed on Partfinder. Do you mean an LS 161 or an LS612 ? There is no PCB in the LS612.

Hi John, If that statement is true then the best suggestion I can give is to look,

    here

Simple things you could check, is the door locked after you switch on ?

Re: WMA Drum 5 yr Guarantee

I have always advised the customer of the 5 year parts guarantee on any appliance that has an expensive repair required, regardless of the fault. On the odd occasion they will still insist that I do the repair if it is not much above Hotpoint’s minimum labour charge. For some strange reason that I cannot fathom, they seem to have more faith in me. 😉

I occasionally inform the customer after I have fitted a £5.00 part, that Hotpoint would have given it them for nothing, then take great pleasure in informing them of what they would have paid for this dubious priveledge. 🙂

I think we may have gone on far to long with the one day stuff, the Aussies are just running into form and Englands openers are not looking too secure.
I am fed up of pyjama cricket now and can’t wait for the real stuff to begin.

    Re: wmt03 wobbly drum???

Front to rear movement is normal. I’m a little puzzled as to why you replaced the bearings yourself on a machine that is covered by a manufacturers 5 year parts warranty. you would have only paid the labour, and Hotpoint would have replaced the whole inner and outer drum assembly, and you would have been able to call them back if the repair was not satisfactory. By doing the repair yourself you have invalidated your warranty. these machines can be noisy with even the sightest unbalanced load. Is it noisy on spin when you run it without clothes in it?

NB. If you did not use the latest bearing kit with the Rubena seal then early failure of the replaced bearings is a distinct possibility sometime in the future. If the new seal you fitted had a large spring on it then that is the old type.

    Samll hoover dryers?
I open the door and put my hand in including my elbow locking my hand up at the top off the drum.
This effectively gives a Bionic feel to your arm and just by moving your shoulder joint you can lift the whole machine and set it down on the floor.

Also my preferred method. Having worked for six years full time on various farms before working for Hotpoint, I did a large amount of heavy lifting on a daily basis. I am always careful of my back position in any lift and would always ask for assistance if the position of the appliances made this difficult.
