Yes, the 130 relates to the temperature that the ‘one shot’ safety stat cuts out at permanently, the other is the max operating temp of the control stat.

As to the chances of a replacement, I would say low. It depends on the dealer that sold the appliance, not Creda (Merloni or The Indesit Company) but you can always try.

One of the stats should have a spot of green paint on it. If it does not then the one with L130C is the one shot device ( green dot ) and should be fitted to the left, the other stat should have L106-20C, this is the temperature control stat and goes to the right.
Handle the L130C stat with care, if you press in the base the stat will be permanently damaged.

Remember to pull the plug first.

Whilst these stats do fail on a regular basis there are a few things you can do to prevent early failure. Make sure the heat exchanger as well as the filter is kept clean ( a hosepipe in the garden is the best way ) never stop the dryer when it is hot except in an emergency, always allow the last 10 minute cooling down period to take place. Try and make sure that tiny hands are not pressing the door when the dryer is in operation.

Don’t know if this info is of any use, my latest version of Partfinder has the inner door panel as C00 090770

    Edit.
I have done a bit of poking around in Partfinder and part number 075055 is apparently for Model FM20KIX (GB ) not FM20KCIX ( GB ).

Just checked my stock and I already carry 97916670 carbons, these are completely different to the Sole motor carbons. Looking at the picture of CAR 53 ( Zanussi ) they do look like a possiblity, although the terminals look bigger which should not be to much of a problem, will order a set and see how it goes.

    Thanks to all.

Don’t think so, read this article and look at the second chart.

just in case the second picture will not enlarge on that page, Siemens are No: 2 on the list.

Re: INDESIT WI RANGE, NON STOP TIMER CLICKING ROUND?+moan ti

If I was to pick out the one Hotpoint feature that stands head and shoulders above others, it is the above drum mounted motor, if they had used the FHP motor from day one, or sorted the GEC motor, or used the AC Delco motor from the 1600 series ( not an option with AC controls ) it would have made a huge difference to reliabilty. When did you last (ever) have a problem with water ingress on a Hotpoint 1850/9500/WM series appliance.

As a favour I did a door seal on a Bauknecht W/D a few months ago, I had great difficulty in obtaining the correct seal and fitting it was a terrible, messy job, almost as bad a Newpol W/D I did for a neighbour over 20 years ago.

Re: INDESIT WI RANGE, NON STOP TIMER CLICKING ROUND?+moan ti

Just to play devils advocate 😈

On the two most recent pages of this forum’s Washing Machine/Dryer thread, 14 posts relate to Hotpoint machines and eight to Bosch appliances, a ratio of just under 2 to 1. I have no idea of exact figures but would guess that over the past ten years Hotpoint machines have sold at a ratio of at least 5 to 1 against Bosch appliances. does this rough and ready survey indicate that Bosch machines are not as reliable as Hotpoint, or that they are not up to the standards they used to be. I read a good deal of the motoring press and quality and reliabilty of German cars, especially Mercedes comes in for a great deal of criticism these days.
I do not at the moment repair Bosch appliances but at the same time as the Hotpoint WMA bearing problem , I received countless calls from Bosch owners complaining of bearing failure. I accept that these may well have been the non german produced machines.

BTW, My tongue is firmly in my cheek as I post this. 🙂

    Re: electra WD1100A

This is basically a Hotpoint/Creda machine. The temp dial allows you to reduce the maximum temperature of any given wash, it does not increase the temp of say a 40 degree wash to a 95 degree wash. If you leave it on 95 degrees it will do each wash at its pre determined setting.

Edit. Cancel that first bit. It is an Indesit produced machine however the info regarding the temp knob is the same. You cannot set a temp to high for any given wash with this control, only with the main timer control .

95 series….. I still have many, many customers with 1800 series machines in perfect order. I have one customer nearby with an old purple door 1851 that I first went to when I still worked at Hotpoint more than 25 years ago. I had to change the motor under g/tee because the original was one of those awful square EMD motors. I still remind her of her scathing comments at the time as to what a load of rubbish the machine was. 😉 it still has the same motor I fitted all those years ago and has had 1 door seal, 1 pump and a couple of sets of brushes in all that time.

    Dave.

Merloni, ugh 😥 . It was BDA when I started and Hotpoint when I left in 1978, I keep up to speed on tech issues as well as I can with occasional help from ex colleagues, sadly most of them are now retired so specialist info is getting harder to obtain.

    PS. I actually liked the 1600, I considered it a challenge. 😉

Re the EMW leaflet, it possibly only refers to WMA 30 and up with four or five option buttons and a row of progress lights. This info is in the Hotpoint manual for these models but for some reason the WMA10/20 range have a separate service manual & diagnositics manual. I am in the process of trying to obtain the latter.

A considerable number of boards are in fact not faulty, you should run a ‘last fault’ test program and also a full functions test program before changing the board.
As regards recon modules, I have found that QER are about the best that I have encountered.

Re: WMA PCBs,ANY CLUES TO BLOWN TRACKS OR ICs ?????????????

Faulty motors, with badly burnt or arcing brushes etc will blow the board.
If I change a door interlock I always open up the ‘ faulty’ one to check for any sign of a fault.
