ModeratorRe: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers
Only caught a quick glance this morning but that is the new Whirlpool dryer with Hotpoints’ name on it.
And a bit puzzled as to why that bloke is having a look at it as ‘their engineer’.????
I could make out A above ATAT on the front of his jacket but couldn’t quite make out what was on his back.

If you click on the ‘Additional’ tag on the page for those brushes you will get all of the known alternative part numbers, you may be able to source them elsewhere. 😉
However as you can see from THIS link you may end up paying more for the parts even with ‘free delivery’.
There are some on eBay that are much cheaper, Google is your friend.

Strong possibility that the main circulation pump motor has seized, can you here a very faint humming noise after it fills?

Sadly that manual download bears no resemblance to the controls in the first post. 🙁

If you can remove the brushes complete with holders if it has them, and post pictures of the brushes and motor we may be able to advise further.

ModeratorRe: Cresta Carefree year identification
Creda used to have Carefree as a model name, not sure about ‘Cresta’?????
If you can find any serial numbers etc anywhere we may be able to date it but the Creda Carefree range was in production in the late 90’s.
Can you post any pics?

No easy way, you could try and slide the heater back in far enough to allow you to refit the nut loosely on the very end of the threaded shaft. Then knock the shaft back in, this ‘may’ free the inner metal plate from the back of the rubber. Either way you will have to prise, prod, poke and pull at the rubber grommet using thin flat bladed screwdrivers until you manage to get it out.

Alice Beer speaking to a Whirlpool executive on ITV this morning.
The ambulance chasers are hovering like vultures.
Look out Don, they are now advising everyone to contact their retailers and for any under six years old demand a replacement.

The first picture in that article is a Hotpoint dryer but the last picture is a washer not a dryer.
