Sounds like a main circulation pump failure, sadly very common on these Indesit appliances. 🙁

Cheap plastic knobs on these ‘Indesit’ machines, common failure point. 🙁
Quite awkward to remove and refit. The whole facia panel has to be removed and the the pcb and the inner plastic housing removed from facia to allow you to get at the lugs that hold the knob in place.

If you have somehow managed to drag another three years out of it I would be inclined to think I had been extremely lucky and would be looking for something better. 😉

Seen more on Hotpoint myself, exactly the same part and same poor quality wiring connections.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint WMA40P/ soap box complete.
That’s because they no longer supply complete assy. All individual parts and several options of those make it a PITA to get the right parts. Fully serial number and commercial code needed to stand any chance of getting the right parts. :rolls:

It is the Achilles heel of most dishwashers, the wiring harness is flexed every time the door is opened. The older the machine the more likely the failure.

It is a well known failure point, sadly at this age its likely that the wiring harness is becoming brittle and any repair may only be a temporary fix. Harness is no longer available as a spare. 🙁

Remove the outer door panel and check for broken wiring near the left hand hinge.
Machine will not advance if the water temperature does not rise to allow the stat to close. 😉

it is the washing machine serial number my picture refers to. Virtually no parts have serial numbers on them, all modifications or changes in spec are related the the appliance serial number, date code or commercial code.
From that you will deduce that the fan motor for your machine is a C00098711.

Not so, if it was Unicorn Poo it would be more valuable than Painite, currently the most valuable mineral in the world but Painite does exist. Unicorns do not exist and it follows that neither does their poo.
If you do every find real Unicorn Poo then you will be a very rich man.
Your machine is cheap Chinese tat but it far from Unicorn Poo. 😉
The term Unicorn Poo should be used to describe something very rare, not of inferior quality. :rolls:

Two different pcb’s so serial number needed. I have seen a sticker on or behind the plinth at the bottom. Can’t say I’ve seen one on the back but you never know.

Label means nothing for parts ID, serial number is all important.;) The fan just pulls off, some of the earlier metal fans did work down the shaft and jam on the body of the housing, it should spin freely. The nut screws clockwise to release BTW.
