    Re: Hotpoint WDL520 "stopping"

The graphic in the fault codes is a little confusing.

You count the lights from the bottom up using only the bottom five lights.

Sadly you have F01, motor traic short circuit. 🙁

You could check the motor brushes and motor wiring connections.

PS. I could point you in the right direction to a tip. 😉

Re: Hotpoint FDW80 dishwasher playing dead

Really need full, correct serial number and commercial code, serial number is a 9 digit number, comm code is an 11 digit number, however……..

This machine has two totally different sets of electronics, the early one has the display and control pcb in the facia panel, the later one has the main pcb in the base.

Unless one of the company engineers knows what the four lights on the pcb are for you are struggling, we do not have any information on those.

If that number is the first five digits of the serial number then the control pcb is a C00143200, around £80.00.
The display pcb is a C00143234, list price £100.

AL-99 suggests you have removed the connection between pcb’s and nothing else. AL99 is a communications error.

2nd light flashing on the basic, non display models is a fill fault, 3rd light is NTC open circuit, depends which edge of the pcb I suppose. Neither of those faults would render the display inoperative. The electronics on Indesit appliances are known to be very flaky, full model, serial number and commercial code needed to ID any parts.

Hotpoint was taken over by Indesit about 12 years ago. 🙁

Can’t think of any UK produced dishwashers, very little white goods of any description truth to tell. White Knight tumble dryers the only major one. Bosch are usually the better ones in the mid range bracket TBH but they are not what they used to be.

Miele are very good but not cheap, not sure if they do a slimline though.

One of Wuxi Little Swan’s finest (not) made on the 9th October 2008 in China.

As I have already said I would be checking the mains filter in the base first.

If you do need a pcb it is around £60.00, part number C00259737. It does not need programming.

Recognised as a fairly low end machine for quality sadly. 🙁

Re: Hotpoint SDW85A has gone pop!

Suspect you may have had it longer than you think, SDW85 was first produced in 2004.;) In fact if you give us the full serial number and commercial code we can date it for you, also required to identify parts correctly.

It is an Indesit machine badged as Hotpoint, in fact if the model number is actually SDW85A.C then it is a Chinese made Indesit. :rolls:

There is only one pcb inside the door at the top but lots of things could have caused your fault, mains filter, heater, main motor, wiring harness etc, etc.

Visual and electrical checks of all components required.

1 & 5 is a door lock fault, that’s the area you need to check if it re occurs.;)

The one certain motor fault I had tested out OK, I suspect the motor TOC was giving out under load.
