    Re: Indesit D41 Q!ery

It’s an overflow pipe, long since removed from the later machines as it often led to water running into the base. It is supposed to drain into the base if the machine oversoaps.

The rust could also be from the main circulation pump.

All base components will need checking for earth leakage with a suitable megger or multimeter.

    Re: Fault code guide error.

We had a similar discussion the last time I had a clogged up fan.

Pages 15/16 of the manual are cleaning instructions, there is no mention whatsoever of removing the fan cover to clean. 😉

I did have a small load of damp towels in it BTW.

    Re: Fault code guide error.

Front fan badly clogged up, pity the machine isn’t supplied with a small torx bit and instructions on how to flip off the fan cover. 😉

Cleaned it all out then set it running with some damp towels.

Appeared to work fine apart from one thing, set it to ‘Normal’ sensor drying and the display counted down in 5 minute steps until it reached 3 minutes, it then stayed on this for 15/20 minutes until I switched it off manually.

Is this just fuzzy logic at work or could it be something else, she hasn’t mentioned this as a problem?

    Re: Fault code guide error.

I did read all of that last night and can’t think of anything there that would relate.

I am pretty certain it won’t be spinning very wet clothes or overloading. Machine is in a garage and has performed perfectly for nearly 3 years ( since I bought both washer and dryer from Bryan/R600a ). 😉

They both have office jobs so no excessive or heavy washing, going down this afternoon to have a look.

Did you actually bother to test the original heater and stat before you changed them?

Pcb is still the likely culprit though.

Re: Hoover HNWL7146 not heating during wash / drying cycles

The wash heater and dryer heater are not connected so there are multiple reasons why both may not be working. There is no fault that I am aware of that would stop the wash heater and dryer heater from working at the same time.

Impossible to give a specific answer to either.

The components and wiring will need a visual and electrical test to determine the cause.

As I have already intimated, apart from the control pcb most heater faults are not that expensive to repair.

Re: Hoover HNWL7146 not heating during wash / drying cycles

Is that on a hot 60° wash, is it still on a wash or is it now into the rinse cycles?

TBH most no heat faults are usually worth fixing unless the main pcb is faulty.

Re: Hoover HNWL7146 not heating during wash / drying cycles

It will feel cold after any wash due to rinsing in cold water. The heater for the wash side is a totally separate system to the dryer heater. Very unlikely that both would fail at the exact same time.

Put it on a hot wash and feel the door glass after 20 to 30 minutes to check the wash heater.

Chances are that it is just the dryer that is faulty, should be worth having it looked at. Could be toc, element, blocked condensor etc, none of them over expensive.

    And…Forum rules . 😉

However, there are only two connections on the door switch and it doesn’t matter which way they are refitted.

Ha, when you have been at it as long as I have, the shelves with the ‘maybe I will use that in the future’ have more stuff on them than all the others. 🙁 :clown:
