ModeratorNot sure how old this machine is but Indesit dishwashers used to flash the sat/rinse aid lights to indicate an error but the exact error was shown by flashing a combination of the other lights, that is to say that salt/rinse aid flash for every error. Are any of the other lights flashing at all?

ModeratorUnfortunately this is one of the Chinese made machines and the manuals as is often the case are subject to strange translations.:( This should give you a full error code.
Try and make sense of this.iadom

ModeratorI have replied to the visitor message you sent, I can confirm that the lights flashing are supposed to be F02, a motor related fault. From your PM it does sound as though the brushes are shot. As I mentioned there are several motors with different brushes used in these machines. Feel free to email me a picture of the motor and brushes.

ModeratorThese are the genuine brushes for that model. https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/ask8801195-asko-asea-fhp-washing-machine-carbon-brushes
At this age you could use other FHP brushes as long as the ends of the carbons are the correct angle.

ModeratorNever touched a Colston dishwasher, or any Colston appliance for that matter. When I retired in April 2018 I got rid of all of my manuals etc in a major garage clear out.

ModeratorYou didn’t include all of the controls in your pic. You could try pressing and holding the reset (M)button for three seconds.

ModeratorThis is the best link I can find, might work better on laptop or PC than phone or tablet. https://docs.whirlpool.eu/default.cf…h-result-table Your commercial code is the model number WWDC 7440.

ModeratorGood luck with that, when I retired in April 2018 I sorted through my stock. Separated it into groups, various door seals in one large bag. Pumps and motors, modules, a box of miscellaneous carbon brushes etc. I uploaded details and pictures to the WTA members area here at UKWG’s . I got just one enquiry for the box of carbons which I sold, at a ridiculously low price I might add. Not a single enquiry about anything else. I suppose I could have tried to sell everything individually on EBay but I just couldn’t be arsed to spend months and months doing that. Eventually gave all the really good stuff to a colleague who I used to work with at Hotpoint nearly 40 years ago and put the rest in a skip.:(

ModeratorI live and worked in an area with very soft water, whilst it severely rots alloy drum supports I never had to deal with limescale.

ModeratorWe had special tools to remove and refit the bearings. Even with those you occasionally got a set that was stiff, I also seem to recall the Hotpoint bearing seal already had a very fine coating of lubricant on the inside when new.
