ModeratorHaving read through the user manual there does not appear to be any way to modify the buzzer operation. 🙁

ModeratorCan you give us the product or PNC number from the rating plate? This type of information is always in the user manual if there actually is such an option.

ModeratorSadly I have to agree with Bob. I finally retired just over 12 months ago, sell the business, I couldn’t even sell a shed load of spares. I sorted them into specific lots as I didn’t want to try and sell thousands of spares piece by piece. Put them into the forum trade shop window and only managed to sell a box of carbons brushes. Around £200 worth of brushes at trade prices went for £20. The other boxes of almost all current spares hundreds of £’s worth on offer for £25 to £35 a box got no response. Finally gave most of them to a forum member and ex colleague from my Hotpoint days and put the rest in a skip. 🙁

ModeratorUsing disinfectant will not do any good, the Zanussi machines in particular do have a lot of small nooks and crannies that even the very best of cleaners fail to shift for long.
You could try Affresh it’s the best product we have found.

ModeratorSo I was a genuine, cheapo Indesit part, any decent company would have included instructions about the change and also included a couple of AMP tags as well. ;(

ModeratorJust had a quick scan through the service docs and can see no mention of a change to seal fitting? Manual is over 130 pages, I can send it you if you like but will need you to PM me an email address.
Jim.

ModeratorScreen snip of diagram. If you do a Google search of that number getting rid of all the gaps, hyphens etc then it does bring up an oven door seal. 😉

ModeratorOccasionally the drum seal could foul on the drum even if the drum spider was ok. Could never be certain if the inner drum had distorted slightly or drum shaft had some end to end wear allowing the drum to move forward ever so slightly. I have fitted new seals in the past and had difficulty getting them clear of the drum, even tried levering the inner drum edge to clear the seal without much success. The first thing to do would be to remove the new seal and then set the machine to a spin cycle with a few towels in it. If it runs smoothly like this then that would suggest the drum spider is intact, if it is noisy or obviously out of line then it would suggest the spider has failed. Not really an economic repair at this age.
NB: Even though the diagram shows a detached spider it was never made available as a separate part, complete inner drum and spider assembly only, always annoyed me because it unbolts so easily.

ModeratorHard to say these days, Miele are mainly splittable drums but at a cost. Some Bosch machines are sealed drums, some not. Things change so quickly and as sealed drums are cheaper to produce and the general public go for cheap over quality most of the time manufacturers are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

ModeratorMost machines on the market have completely sealed drums and have done so for many years now. The drum for this machine is £163:00. 🙁
How old is the machine, if under five years old it’s covered by their five year parts warranty, if over five then time for the tip.

ModeratorCan’t be same filter housing Dave, original pump motor looks like a bayonet fixing. It’s obviously a cheapo copy.

ModeratorWas there any sign of arcing on the old brushes or the commutator? Not uncommon for the overload to blow on these motors. A quick test with a suitable multimeter on the motor itself next step.
