Do you mean the wrap round cabinet, no separate side panels on these. To access the switch simply pull off the timer knob using pliers, this reveals a single screw, take this out and the plastic control panel slides off.

Diagrams not much help unfortunately, only show the old style Zanussi motor fastenings which used to be four large, self tapping screws that screw directly into the motor casing. I would fit the nuts at the drive pulley end and if you do have access to suitable nuts fitting two on the other two bolts will not do any harm, on the contrary it will make it more secure.

Not sure about the set up on this, possibly Chinese made machine, If you could give me the full PNC number starting with 914 I could have a look. Normally on machines that only use two small bolts and two securing pegs then the bolts with the nuts on fit at the drive pulley/ belt end of the motor.

TBH putting two nuts on the other bolts wouldn’t be a problem, leaving them off in the first place is just penny pinching anyway.

The only thing bolts of that size are used on any of the components you mention is on the motor.

If the local company is decent and ‘careful’ then how will Samsung know the hose has been changed?

Where are these pictures, on your phone or PC. Either way there are some easy to use image resizing apps that will reduce them to an acceptable size. Let me know if you can’t do that and we will explore alternatives. 😉

Without a clearer picture I would tend to agree with Dave, looks like a ‘foreign body’ to me. Nothing remotely like that used on these dryers AFAIK ?

That ‘should’ have been obvious to any decent engineer but is a good suggestion. If it is at possible could you take a couple of pictures of the top of the drum with the lid removed and also the back of the drum with the back panel removed?

If the drum spider had broken then the inner drum would tend to be loose and a little off centre, if it revolves very smoothly and you cannot pull it from side to side or up and down it would suggest it is OK. Back to front movement is normal. As I have already mentioned, never seen or heard of a drum spider failing on these????

It is possible to remove the drum lifters or paddles that lift the clothes. doing this would allow you to look inside the outer drum to see if there is anything in there. Instructions for drum lifter removal is in your user manual.

NB: It’s not the weight of the load that causes problems, in fact underloading with single, heavy items is a more common cause of out of balance, or loading one very heavy item with other lighter clothes.

That is a shame, not sure if the site admins know of anyone suitable in that area?

Did it blow a fuse or trip the electrics in any way? Would you say it was a physical bang, something knocking or banging on the drum or an bang like a component going pop. Was there any sign of water on the floor afterwards?

If it didn’t blow a fuse or trip then it may be worth trying it on a rinse & spin programme without any clothes in it just to test. If it doesn’t run under it’s own steam then it would suggest an electrical failure which could be expensive but something as simple as a foreign body ( coins, keys etc ) in the drum can also cause a loud bang. Worth having a look in the pump filter to see if anything has passed through.
