In the UK the EEPROM can only be programmed by using expensive equipment or by a Hotpoint/Indesit engineer. Some damage may have occurred in transit. Worth checking all of the connections to the control board.

Your English is vastly superior to my totally non existent Norwegian without a doubt.

It may not correspond with your machine but F09 here is an EEPROM error, a faulty main circuit board.

Difficult from here as wiring and parts diagrams we have will differ from your machine. An open circuit motor or loose/broken wiring to the motor connecting plug can also affect the door lock. These machine are not held in very high regard in the UK to tell the truth.

I’m guessing you are posting from Norway? Models numbers may not correspond to UK appliances. What if anything have you had a look at.

The wiring to the door lock is a common failure point, weak connections that burn out.

Any idea why Daves animated gif avatar is working when you look at his profile but is reduced to have size and not active in his posts?

😮 It was actually interesting reading one or two of them. As an aside I was a little bored earlier today and had a look at some old pages of the forum from 2004 using the Wayback machine, Fascinating.

One small problem, the system seems to have restored all of my PM’s from 2005 to date. Most of which I had actually deleted on the old forum, around 40 pages of them. I laboriously deleted them all which sent them to the trash folder. I then attempted to send Don a test PM using the link in his profile but got a message that I had exceeded my storage space and message would not send. I then went to the trash folder and had to delete all 40 pages of them permanently before I could send the message to Don. Hopefully it has now gone through.

Then the first thing to check/test is the wash heating element.

So it is stuck on wash not spin? Are there any lights flashing such as the line of horizontal lights?

On some models a faulty wash heating element can cause this fault.

Does it go straight into spin when you set it to a wash programme or does it fill for a time before it goes into spin? If it goes into spin instantly on a wash programme that suggests a faulty control module. If it fills for a while and then tries to spin it could be due to broken wiring to the motor plug tachometer connections

Also, unlike the old PM system it doesn’t appear to send email notification of any subsequent answers to the original message, you have to keep checking back to see any replies.

I was able to go back and edit my last message to Ken. šŸ˜‰
