ModeratorWhat is strange looking at the screen grab I did before I apparently deleted it there is no name on the first post in the thread which is dated 2006. ???

ModeratorWas trying to delete a spam thread, not sure if I succeeded or someone else was doing it at the same time. Seems the forum is not as secure as we thought.

ModeratorVery Twittery, just done one to try it out. π
Not that I have ever thought of wasting my time on Twitter.;)

Moderatorcould be either, it does have the usual condenser down the side of the drum at the back though.
iadom
ModeratorIt could be leaking into the base. Drag it out and once unplugged tilt it to one side. If water runs out then you need to check that you have correctly refitted whatever you removed to get at the glass .

ModeratorOne thing I have noticed is that images inserted in posts are duplicated several times such as those in this thread.
https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forum…lewis-jldww905I have seen some thread posts with ten or more of the same image such as the eight post in this thread which has 28 copies of the same image.

ModeratorIf itβs anything like as unreliable as the dreaded Askoll dishwasher motors you may be seeing plenty Dave. π

ModeratorThanks. π

ModeratorThanks for that info Murv, would you like to let me have a copy or post them in the Known Error Codes thread?
Jim.

ModeratorPictures can be misleading, this is an Askoll motor after all.;)
iadom
ModeratorRemoval of motor is a major strip down and the bearings are not designed to be replaced in this type of motor. A new motor is approx Β£116 so you may be better off letting Hotpoint repair it under the five year parts warranty.

ModeratorFrom this distance a lot of speculation is involved, an engineer on site is the only real way to tackle the problem rather than changing parts in hope rather than expectation.
The heater shouldn’t even be switched on for the rinse programme so the thermistor shouldn’t be involved.
iadom
ModeratorThe thermistor that controls the water temperature is slotted into a small sleeve on the outer drum just above the motor. This can be subject to water ingress or may have come loose or failed. It’s getting more like engineer time TBH.
