IIRC they are connected to PC Control Systems of Northampton whom supply the Servicebase Software.

Also think they covering the Vestel Audio Visual things for Argos. They appear to be a start up 0800/JTM style outfit!

I will see if I can get there telephone number in the morning.

Deception is fraud covered by the Fraud Act of 2006. You would need to prove beyond all reasonable doubt the party deliberately set up false representation to go this route. Bouncing a payment cheque for example would do it.

Whom in their right mind would continue to do work for a party if they thought that party deliberately had no intention of paying at the end?

None payment doesn’t void a contract, it breaches it. Two different things, but I understand where you are coming from Lee

The regulations have already been amended as of 13 June 2014.

The term emergency is relative to what a reasonable person would call an emergency. It is reasonable to say the loss of £150 of food to some would be considered an emergency. On our job sheets we have a section marked urgency, with tick boxes for emergency, Urgent or standard. when the customer signs the job sheet we record the service level that determines how we proceed should we need to prove the call out was requested by the customer as an emergency.

The customer is entitled to cancel at any point during the first 14 days of the contract being formed.

However they are required to pay for any services provided to them up to the point of cancellation, provided the trader has provided the customer with written documentation of how the customer can cancel the contract. We do this by handing the customer a copy of our job sheet with the cancellation procedure on the rear of the page.

The OP did exactly the right thing by removing his property at the point the contract was cancelled.

In the event that he had left the part in situ he would have needed to wait the requisite 14 days (note this is days, not working days) before demanding payment and initiating formal debt recovery procedures.

Again if you have your T&C’s and documents correctly laid out, then defeating these Jeremy Kyle types is easy.

Their problem is they think, having watched a 7 minute TV show they are suddenly consumer rights lawyers. A little planning on our part soon stops that idea!

    Re: Baumatic BF326w

Baumatic is now part of Hoover, so both Qualtex and Connect should be able to get the bottom one if it’s still available, although I suspect if any attempts to order one via Hoover it will then come back as obsolete too. I can check with Hoover if you want me too?

Nobody will be able to obtain the top/Middle one as it’s obsolete now.

It’s a sad day Ken when you have to take such unpalatable action!

Can I ask why you persist (assuming you do) with using those agents whom cause you issue.

I would have thought there were plenty of good agents willing to stand up to unreasonable customers, out there, to get sufficient coverage postcode wise to enable this to be resolved?

The OOB is controlled by a signal from the motor tachometer to the PCB.

If it washes correctly and the motor tests ok it’s usually the PCB going nuts.

That said we have changed PCBs in the past and the problem got worst rather than better.

Hairs answer was to keep changing the PCB until we got a less sensitive one!

    They crap!

Yes the drum spider is worn, causing the pulley to come loose.

The repair is to replace the inner drum assy AND the drum pulley together, then if you lucky it will last another couple of years.

Repair cost is around £180 for the parts only.

    Re: debt collecting

DCA = Debt Collection Agency, B2C = Business to Customer.

Going round to his house, kicking the door in and threatening to rape his 13 year old daughter, may also have gotten you paid, doesn’t make it legal though.

Fact is, your actions could be construed as impersonating a DCA, whom must be licensed to engage in such activity and THAT is illegal and you run the risk of a criminal conviction but that is your choice.

I would simply caution others to think carefully about the consequences should they wish to follow your actions.

A correctly obtained CCJ is enough to obtain payment if you know what your doing and importantly HOW to have one enforced.

There is no need to be underhanded and if your feel it acceptable to engage in underhanded and illegal tactics then frankly your no better than the rip off, won’t pay merchants we all despise.

    Re: debt collecting

    Care here!

Unless collecting B2B debts, acting as a DCA on B2C debt is illegal and can lead to imprisonment of upto 5 years and or a fine of £5000 per instance.
