Coreboard is the Main PCB NOT the display PCB

ParticipantRe: Error Code E04 on a Hoover WDYN 9646G-80
If pressure switch and tube are both ok, it’s either of the following:-
1. Faulty inlet valve;
2. Damaged or loose wiring;
3. Faulty Coreboard
3 is the most likely.Jackal

ParticipantRe: Hoover HNWL7146 not heating during wash / drying cycles
Daemore, I didn’t say you have caused any offence and my opinion is that you haven’t.
IADOM asked you to put it on a hot wash, which would be a 60 or 90 degree one because he was remotely trying to test something for you, to determine or narrow down the list of suspects in regards to the fault.
You ignored that and put it on a 40 degree wash which in terms of the test IADOM was trying to do was pretty much useless to us.
It is rare both faults occur at the exact same time, which could lead to conclusion the control board is faulty, however many other things could also be causing the problem.
So without someone now actually diagnosing the problem for you your not likely to get any further here.
If you want me to price a control module for you, so you can weigh up that option I will need the full serial code from the machine. it will be 16 digits long and begin with a 3

With respect to you Daemore, if we cannot diagnose the problem we cannot answer your question on likely cost with any degree of accuracy.
Given the way you ignored the advise of one of this sites most experienced engineers but still question us, here is the best answer available to you on costs.
Somewhere between £0.00 and £988.67
£0.00 because it could be a loose connection or broken wire and £988.67 the cost of an ISE10 to replace it.

ParticipantWhirlpool oven Power fuse.
We do a fair chunk of work for Scottish Power where this is supposed to be the core fault, well that’s what they tell the customer is the reason for the problem anyway.
Usually what has happened is the fault is down the neutral line not the live which causes the PCBs to fry.
Standard fuses protect the live side not the neutral side so it is unlikely that would be the fault, but it would hurt to check.

ParticipantRe: HOOVER VHD148A
According to Tech Note 806LB it is an error code, error 3, not draining within specified time.
I think the confusion is on the later variants the Timer Saver button is now called Stain Blaster. Helpful Hoover!

Correct model is CI970IN and yes it’s a Smeg in a CDA dress.
Technical says E13 is a door lock error.

ParticipantBaumatic BT2710SS – All main oven functions not working?
The clockwork timer acts like a fuse to function. When engages it allows power through it until it counts down to 0 them it interrupts the supply causing the oven to shut down.
If it is broken you will need to either replace it or bypass it. Bypassing the timer is not as straight forward as joining the wires together, but if you are familiar with the circuit it should be straight forward.
The selector switch on these are known to be problematic. Any sign of burning or scorching on the terminals or casing of the switch is a very good indicator it has failed.
There are two versions, 1 has 9 positions the other has 10. If it the 10 position switch check to see if it has been modified. Old ones which need modifying are white in colour. If it’s a white switch you will need the wiring diagram as well to convert it.
Modified units have a brown housing, these are the only ones now available and are a straight swap over.
The TOC (Lofra call it a Klixon) is located bottom left rear of the chassis, not all units had them fitted at the factory. It is basically a thermal fuse and trips when the cabinet temp reaches 180 Deg IIRC.
Good luck

CDA buy the product in from a range of manufacturers. It’s gonna be difficult to advise without knowing the model number.

ParticipantEPOS Question
Access is a matter for the mods and admin to deal with and is irrelevant to the topic
My working relationship with my boss is between him and me again irrelevant to the topic.
Now to your points, indeed there are two sides to every coin.
The personal touch is again irrelevant if it cannot be delivered when it’s needed. I am not talking about a minor amendment to a report or similar, I am talking about the system falling over and not being available to use.
We have had thankfully only a couple of occasions where this has occurred with Paul’s software and whilst Carl was willing to wait till Paul’s day started around 12ish UK time and on both occasions it was sorted out simply by Paul, it still meant the office was unable to get on their work in the morning. On both occasions the problem was with an update issued by Paul the previous evening!
If your a small business and loose half a day waiting for someone to start on the problem I think that is a totally valid point.
I disagree him being in Canada is better than a UK based entity. I think its worse. No face to face communication or understanding of the real time aspects of each individual business for example. Each business model is unique and to some degree the software needs to be bespoke in its operation. This isn’t really possible with an operation based outside of your country if operation and to my mind means we have to set our business around the software which is never ideal.
I work 8 till the jobs done. To answer your question no I generally wouldn’t want someone doing minor updates on my system during the working day but if I got in to the office and couldn’t serve a customer because the software didn’t work your damned right I would want it fixed ASAP and no I don’t think saying to customers you carnt get served until the small hours of the morning would have many jumping around with glee. You can test it yourself tomorrow, tell every customer that comes into you before 12pm carnt be served, helped or updated with anything for a day because the computers are down, then ask them how pleased with your service they are!
In relation to Paul being unavailable, you must be on a different system to us as we have a time limited log on. If Paul doesn’t log on and add time to the licence it shuts off, so obviously if anything were to happen to prevent him accessing the system we are stuffed. It is vitally important in that case that other solutions to get round the potential of him being away are sought but they aren’t available with Paul! We know painfully well the past number of weeks what problems can be caused when a key operative unexpectedly becomes unavailable!
Now with any system, there are good bits and there are bad bits.
I have never said the system is poor, read back at what I actually posted. I said I didn’t trust it long term. I believe I have justified above why I think it the case.
If people wish to take the risk then that is there choice but I think they should be aware of both sides of the story or as you put it, both sides of the coin then they can make an informed choice carnt they.
I am also aware that there are several on here that have tried the software and like me didn’t think it was suitable.
Finally, do you think Paul can be trusted, given the contents of Peter Jays post, I would suggest not, and that is something all who read this should bear in mind!
Finally, really finally, Carls phone with the access to this site will be returned to him shortly.
