Ok I will answer that.
‘Like I said, posters are anonymous.’
Someone is emailing you, apparently phoning you, and engineer has been out to see the machine, they are registered on this forum with an email address? How many ISE5 issues do you have clogging up your inbox? Not many I suspect. :rolls:
‘Much of the rest of the post was in response to the comments made by the previous poster, if you would care to read back. That’s the problem with forums sometimes, multiple conversations and people often read only the parts that they want to read, not the complete.’
The previous poster you refer to was keen to know about the service standards of the repairer, which is linked to how the warranty is fulfilled as it would be a warranty repair. So they wanted to know what had happened here, like others. All machines may have issues, it is how they are dealt with.
‘To say that ISE or UKW don’t care is more than a tad harsh and completely untrue. You care to draw that inference, that is your choice.’
I didn’t say you did not care, I am sure you do. I said that it may be potentially implied, as there was no positive update on the service issue. If it was my product I’d darn well want to know that mumof6 had a fixed washing machine given the unhappy nature of her post, and let the forum know. If you can’t see that, then well, I can’t change how you are seeing things.
‘The point of quoting the original post was? What?
Or is it a case of you just want an excuse to slag off ISE or UKW at any given opportunity?’
No point anywhere have I slagged off ISE as you put it. I and others have raised some reasonable questions and made some reasonable comments. I want to buy one, really, but I want to know that the warranty offered is backed up in the real world. This thread was an opportunity for me to see how a warranty issue was resolved. I re-quoted the original post as it made some not very positive comments that I would have thought you would want to address.
‘Jaunty, please by a Miele. Pretty please. Wink ‘
Different sales approach, good luck with that.
‘You don’t have a pop at them but seem quite happy to have a pop at ISE whenever the opportunity presents itself. And, see how well you get on quizzing them with the points you’ve asked of me and/or UKW/ISE and see how you get on.’
I’m not having a pop. I just have questions I am trying to answer. Until the ISE website is redone (soon, all being well?) I don’t know the terms on which I would be buying a machine. Eg what are the terms of the warranty? As you have mentioned Miele, in comparison, I can see the basis of their warranty I would get if I want to here:
https://miele.guarantee-registration.co … July10.pdf
I asked elsewhere about repairers on your panel who would come out to London E7 to sevice an ISE, as a search in the current UKW repairer said there are none. I assume that if Ron’s Repairers were not available there would actually be other repairers that could come? Hopefully all academic but it would be nice to know.

As to the issue posted by the OP, I presume it is resolved.
K.Everything else you have said, apart from what I have quoted is not really relevant. I don’t dispute it, but it is not relevant. What I have quoted is relevant, as I would have thought you would have made it your business to know for sure that the issue posted by the OP was resolved.
Sorry to requote the whole post, but just to remind people this was the first post the OP made. If ISE/UKW feel that an answer saying ‘we don’t really know [or care, by potential implication] what happened but presume it got resolved’ then, well, that’s your call. If the answer is it was a user error, let us know.

I am posting this out of desperation! I purchased an ISE5 from UK Whitegoods in November 2008 for £499.00 including 5 years warranty. In October 2010 I contacted UK Whitegoods as I had a problem and an engineer did come out and look at it and stated there was a problem possibly with the barings! This was over a month ago now and despite repeated emails to UK Whitegoods nobody seems to want to reply to me anymore and I have a washing machine that is getting noisier, making holes in clothes and generally not washing well!
Can anybody please advise me what to do next as I thought I was buying from a trusted company when I bought from UK Whitegoods and also the reason I paid nearly £500 was because I was getting a 5 year warranty (or so I thought).
Is there a problem with ISE? I feel that I have been patient enough and now I will be contacting other parties for advice but I will not let the matter drop and I will be as noisy as possibly.
Any advice gratefully received.”December 1, 2010 at 12:42 am in reply to: ISE5 Broken down for weeks and no one seems to care????????? #336853Jaunty

If this was all sorted, then I would not think ISE confirming so on the thread would breach any sort of data protection act, as we do not know anything about the poster.
But no news on the thread. So it is reasonable to assume the worst and that nothing has happened, and the repair is unresolved. A consumer trying desperately to get some help to fulfil their warranty but with no update after a week, is not what I am looking for before deciding whether to pay £899 plus delivery for a new washing machine. I would be delighted to be put right.

ParticipantRe: The ‘Reason’ Washing Machine
It seems that is the company’s own blog, and the tv article linked to is from 27 March 2009, so somewhat out of date…
Until a real working device is tested by independent third parties no one can really say anything about the machine. To me, a layman, it seems like a toploader that loads from the front but with inevitable problems likely to arise over time because of the drawer load system.

I’m still on the fence about getting a current ISE10.
It would be good to know that their service back up works hence my interest in this post, and that they have repair agents that would come out to my area (see a seperate post of mine).

ParticipantRe: ISE appliances – some thoughts
I am looking forward to an update of the website too. Currently, if I search for a repairer in my post code area London E7 to repair an ISE machine, I am told there are none. If I bought one through Ron’s Repairs, I know they would come out and have every faith in them, but say they were closed or on holiday it would be good to know that there are other repairers available who would come out?

Also looking forward to an update on this issue, hope all has been sorted by ISE/their nominated repairer.

Hi quickwash. Curious as to what washing detergent you use and if you use fabric conditioner? I have a feeling you may have looked in to it :D. Not so much the brand (but by all means say) but whether you use powder, bio, liquitabs etc? We use liquitabs for convenience but I am wondering about going back to good old powder.

ParticipantRe: ISE Insurance backed Warranty?
I have mentioned this in an email to ISE, but can I just point out that the home page http://www.iseappliances.co.uk/ still states “Our machines are built to the highest standards, with long guarantees (insurance underwritten).” I know the website is due to be re-done but thought this line may be one that could be removed to avoid any further confusion.

The 1607 isn’t based on the W6564. Same basic design chassis design I grant you, different control panel, PCB and software. Oh, as well as a different drum and tub, shock absorbers and a few other bits and bobs. 😉
If you look at the spec on that page you’ll see it the previous 7kg rated drum and tank. 50l load capacity as opposed to the 7000 Series with the 60l drum.
Looks awfully similar though at a glance from the photos.
Loved the use of denouement Jaunty, very apt and much underused word, one I had totally forgotten so thanks for the reminder. Sorry for the digression, the use of the English language and its range never ceases to amaze me.
K.
To avoid any confusion (for any people who do actually click through, not many will I guess) when Kwatt did click through the link was going to the wrong model. This was only up briefly, and the link is now to the right model, which shows the same 60l drum & 8 Kg capacity. So we are both right. 😀
