ParticipantRe: ISE appliances – some thoughts
I have no problem with the post, this is a public forum and we can all make informed decisions. I also find the apparent absence of any London distributors or repairers a bit odd, and feel these are valid comments by hander. I am still keen to get an ISE10 as my next machine but not sure where I should look to buy it from being in E7 London, will dig around a bit. Delivery looks like it is 19th November next availability.

Many thanks, I’ll nip out to John Lewis with a tape measure to double check as well, just to be safe. 🙂

Do you mean you have heard the wash cycle of one? 😀 or as I think I realise now it “sounds” good from what you are reading on this website?
The drop down door I can live without, it was a quirk I had grown to look forward to as and when I get an ISE (current washer not quite dead and refurb not quite due yet).

Shame the drop down door is not on the washer, that had really grown on me!

UKWhitegoods have been incredibly helpful but the part I need (the outer dial showing the programs on it) appears to be obsolete. I think I have found and marked wash number 4 (40 degree standard wash) on the centre dial so we are just using that for now.

In home demonstrations are totally out of the question unless of course you can find some way to pay a good couple hundred quid per demo by the time you deliver, install and remove.
To demo an appliance via the internet, video etc., while possible doesn’t give any indication as to noise levels. It depends how high you turn the volume up as to how noisy it can appear, what sort of room the sound was recorded in and a host of other factors, just in the same way as the article on noise lays out.
So, not really practical.

Hi, slightly crossed wires still, I think. I wasn’t asking about any sort of demo pre purchase. The OP stated
“One final thing was the installation – ours came from a delivery company who were good, but all they do is connect and go. If it’s important to you to have an engineer install it and give you a run through, check that this is what you will get when you order.”
This is no doubt because the delivery cost that is charged says that it includes “installation and commissioning of the appliance, that is it will be installed and tested to ensure that it is working” and on the product website it also says (I paraphrase) “Our products are sold on line by… independent repairers who will install and demonstrate your new machine”.
So he was just saying if a test of the machine is important after you buy it and have it installed, make sure you ask about it in advance. It may be an independent is more likely to give a run through than if you buy direct from ISE who may just arrrange delivery & installation?

All I’d say or, rather do, is point people to this article which explains all about noise levels and why, most of the time, it’s a moot point.

I think the expectation was that you might comment on what can be expected in terms of a demo/installation, rather than the noise.

Hi, thanks for your interest.
Product Number Code:914670019
Manual here http://www.serviceforce.co.uk/pdfs/U01013.pdf
More washes today and the main selector gets very stiff, feels like you are about to break something (maybe I am!) and then it frees up again. The outer dial with the markings on it is stuck fast.

Update : I seem to have founds wash cycles 2 (60 degrees) and 4 (40 degrees) and have tried to mark them. The wash cycles seem to be fine. But it is still going to be real guesswork for the delicate washes etc so if any one has any clues on fixing the outer part of the program dial then that would be great.

Ron of Ron’s Repairers (a recommended repairer on this site) has just been round, not bad bearing in mind he was only contacted yesterday!
Thankfully a) it was the fault suspected on this thread and nothing more terminal and b) the bit he needed to fix it was still here and not lost anywhere. Ron did his stuff and ran it through all the different spin cycles to check ok.
Highly recommend Ron to anyone within reasonable travelling distance of Romford in need of a washer repair. Had a good chat about the ISE10 and the guys involved with it and I have a brochure too for when the Tricity Bendix does give up the ghost.Cheers.

I see that the door opens from the left, but the wall with the radiator is to the right, so this is likely to stop the door opening further than about 90-110 degrees. Any chance that the door direction can be reversed on these?Only the dryer I think looking at brochure and manual (see links). But 110 degrees is more than enough isn’t it?

ParticipantRe: The ‘Reason’ Washing Machine
Interesting read. Companies house indicates the company is under proposal to be struck off, a shame if so but a tough market & economy to launch in to.
