    Re: Indesit IWD7145S module

When I worked for Inde we often found on the ” Economy range ” appliances the edge connectors were crap and readily oxidised take the board out give the edge connectors a wee light rub with emery cloth or paper and refit on lots of occasions this solved random and unexplained PCB behaviour.

Re: Oven not working – advice needed

When you said you replaced the stat I’m assuming you mean the variable stat, the one with the long capillary which goes into the oven cavity. This being the case the next step would be to check either on the top of the cavity ( under the top cover of the oven outer case ) or on the rear of the cavity for an overheat thermostat its likely to be a button stat about 10- 15mm in diameter 2 wires on it. if O/C its faulty. If you find it and its ok given the lack of a clock on this unit the only thing left really is the multi switch ( selector switch ) sometimes the leaf contacts burn out. Finally, and more common that you’d think, check that the terminal block where the mains supply comes in to the oven is tight and not burnt as they often burn up if they come loose at all.

Assuming you’ve checked for blockages etc E35 water level too high would suggest the overfill level on the white pressure switch has stuck shut. E32,33 and 34 were more associated with the black round pressure switch but then of course what you says right the board reads both so if its faulty then it could give you any number of ghost faults

hi LED’s 1 and 4 lit suggests the diagnostic believes the programming in the eeprom is corrupt. ( what does this mean ? )
Your appliance works like a small computer every time you select a programme the ” computer ” is instructed to run a pre set sequence for that cycle ie fill drain rotate etc.In most new Hotpoint/Indesit appliances they use a generic range of pcb’s or computers if you like, what separates them into different models is the software written into the EEProm this tells the computer what machine its in, what programmes there are, the max spin speed etc. When this becomes corrupt the instruction set gets muddled and the computer doesnt know what to do. Thats basically whats happening to your machine. To fix I’m afraid you’ll need a service call from an engineer with the computer interface capable of programming the eeprom.

whirlpool washers have a similar fault 2 capacitors on the timer pcb bulging cause door lock light to flash and the machine not to start. O/C motor triac does the same

prob fixed by now but can air lock on the drain pump if the wee breather on the drain hose where it joins the pump is blocked.
