ParticipantRe: Bad Integrated Appliance Installation
Think I have lost count of the number of times over the years that I have attended repairs only to find that the flooring has been laid up to the feet of the machine leaving no room to tilt or no adjustment to the feet.
I always just say give me a ring when you get it out and I will come back and repair it. A week or two later you return to see their beautiful, expensive oak or tiled floor destroyed.
Most of the time the flooring was laid by the kitchen company or professional flooring contractors that should know better.December 18, 2011 at 3:44 pm in reply to: Motor Not Spinning, Water Not Filling – Whirlpool 320/4 #365659jimluxe

ok plug out ,no live testing.
This is actually a Servis built machine, first don’t know if motor is still out but check wires to motor plug and socket by pulling wires lightly to see if any breaks as the copper wire can break but the insulation can hold it in place.
You need to test the heating element for continuity and insulation (don’t remove the heater because you will not get it back in)
Remove module from holder by unscrewing holder from machine there is a plastic tab at front of holder push down lightly and then remove module from holder.
Remove connectors from module (noting what goes where) check underside of module for any signs of burning ,dry joints or any other damage especially the silver segments where the connector blocks connect.
If it all looks ok then try crimping down all connectors inside the blocks lightly with a pair of pliers (by squeezing on the plastic don’t remove the wires) reassemble and give it a try.
If it is still not working then I would think the module has gone. You have to remember the advice I am giving is based on normal faults I have come across as an engineer but experience has taught me that other
obscure faults in other components can make the module do weird things. If i can offer a bit of a advice i think it would be better to pay a qualified engineer to look at the machine and pay him £30 ish for a proper
diagnosis as this could possibly save you £££££s and a lot of stress.December 18, 2011 at 12:22 pm in reply to: Motor Not Spinning, Water Not Filling – Whirlpool 320/4 #365657jimluxe

Don’t want to sound rude mystic, but do you have any electrical experience or test equipment as the fault is a process of elimination of a couple of parts to see if its the module
thats causing the problemDecember 18, 2011 at 11:59 am in reply to: Motor Not Spinning, Water Not Filling – Whirlpool 320/4 #365655jimluxe

plug out!!
remove back cover, module is bottom left side and you should see a label on it if its that typeDecember 18, 2011 at 11:29 am in reply to: Motor Not Spinning, Water Not Filling – Whirlpool 320/4 #365653jimluxe

Check that the connector plug to the interlock has not come out (had a few of those problems)

ParticipantRe: LG 11kg load, who knows anything about these?
Fixed a leaking fault on one of these things a few weeks ago(dispenser hose inlet to top of drum is very narrow so prone to blocking)
As I was there I asked the customer if I could give it the once over and she was ok with that. As far as I remember there were no large gaps between drum and
Seal . As for silent operation I don’t think so. Part of the wash cycle is like the top loaders with the drum doing
Half turns in each direction for a while then going to normal turns (don’t know why but it could just be for the yanks) on wash or spin though it did not hit the back.
Think I will only do blockages on these until I can get more info on them.jimluxe

ParticipantRe: bosch exxcell d/w no heat
thanks for the quick replys Martin and keith. had loads of calls to do yesterday and never had time to check the the machine properly and was put off by the changes inside.anyway tested it today and the fault is E09 and that problem is heating circuit fault, but we know that anyway.do you know if this is a straight forward heater fault on this model or a possible dry joint on the board or sensor fault ? as regards to the heat pump is it two parts like the later hotpoint or one unit? looking at the motor it has three plugs going to it and i assume the thicker red wire plug is the element connections but not sure what readings i am looking for as there are 4or 5 of them. also reading the notes on the fault guide it says i cant change modules unless i work for bosch! annother nail in the coffin!
