Re: Whirlpool American F/F not cooling properly – please hel

For the fluff to cause the problem the condensor would need to be choked solid so that discounts a fluff problem.

I think you should get somene out to take a look before you go splashing out on a new one, most if not all faults on this appliance would be worth fixing. Click on the link below for “Find an engineer” to get a local independant to look at it for you.

The F/F you have is built like a tank and is probably better than a lot of the new so called US fridge freezers on the market that are made in Europe and the far east. Buying a side by side for £679 is asking for trouble IMO.

Yes that is the one, on most models the grille is black but I have saw a a couple of white versions.

Pull off the black grille at floor level below the f/f doors and check and see if the condensor ( radiator ) is full of fluff. If so vacuum all the fluff out and see if that helps.

It is the correct pcb and if you have 11 flashes it means either faulty OWI or WI, this machine has a WI switch fitted, check that to make sure it is working OK.

    Re: fisher paykel dd603h

What I said above probably applies, the bottom controller is what tests for a F1 fault. Try swapping the controllers round if it is a fault with the bottom controller and you swap top and bottom the machine will work fine.

Also worth noting that F1 is usually a flood problem but if no signs of a leak check both elements for a blown thermal fuse.

Just remembered that if it is showing F1 on the top drawer, no water in the base and the bottom drawer appears to be OK then the fault is probably the bottom drawer controller.

    Re: fisher paykel dd603h

If the F1 fault is showing up on the top drawer and the bottom drawer is dead it means that the element in the bottom drawer is faulty.

    Re: Whirlpool Microwave

    Hi David,

If you are a trade member do you want me to switch this post to the trade technical forum where I am sure you will get the info you need..

Bob Broglia is still with Whirlpool but is not in the tech dept, he is with spares.

Whirlpool will sell you a copy of SIOS for about £40 this should have all the tech info you need.

And finaly the giving out of tech info in the public forums is nothing to do with Whirlpool, no wiring diagrams for any manufacturer are given to any member on the public forums. If such details were given to a member of the public and they injured or even killed themselves then the person giving them the diagram might be held responsible…

    Hi David,
    Double whammy applies here,

Look HERE at this post and it will explain why diagrams are not available to non trade members of the site.

Also no trade member will give out advice on the repair of microwaves or gas appliances due to the inherent dangers involved, microwaves can KILL even when they are unplugged from the mains.
