Re: Hotpoint Indesit Tumble Dryers Scrape after fitting drum

only guaranteed complete repair is new drum and new back panel with the tear drop style bearing
no more scraping noises after that 😀

ofcourse after that mod you then get the drum falling off the front suppport because once the front is stripped down a few times it likes to bow outwards

Re: Indesit DI 620 Leaky door – driving me nutty

    hi
indesit had a problem with this model does the leak occurr late on in the programme like the hot rinse cycle , does it tend to be foamy water? if it does its the 3 sided door seal is too long and causing a pressure buildup within the wash chamber on the hot rinse carefully cut the seal at both ends so that its about 1 inch below the frame it sits inside this allows the pressure to escape as air rather than water
the reason you still want some seal below the metal frame is too save you slicing your fingers off when cleaning as i think the bottom of the frame was made by gillette 😀

remember only do this if your problem is as above

very carefully look along the seam of the tub just above where the metal bends out for the heater hole the metal tubs are prone to getting swiped by the inner drum at this spot and crack it easily gets mistaken as the heater leaking

its the 30mm i believe i would need to check on monday
and yes its exactly what i meant any franchise lads out there who didnt know this could easily gather a free stock of inner drums might get there completed jobs up a bit which means more wages for them 😛

heard the pay rise freeze also came with the promise of no direct employed engineers redundancies for the next year i suppose in this climate being assured your job is safe is better than an extra couple of pounds a week
the supervisor redundancies took place last week with some very long term employees losing there jobs

    hey guys
just a quick heads up the welded tub assy has the same inner drum and spider as the split tub so if you get any welded drums that are leaking or holed you can always cut them open and keep the drum and spider for split tub jobs might save some pennies in these tought times
aye indeed im a scotsman lol!!! 😀

    Re: diplomat apm6855 frost free

    hi mate
recently went to the same model with the same fault fitted a pcb with no success tracked down an ex diplomat techie who was pretty good on refrigeration he told me it was the fridge thermistor which is foamed into the wall and appliance b.e.r
i tried the usual before fitting pcb like reed switch, fan etc so i am pretty sure he was right he said he had come across the fault several times on this model
    hope this helps
