Re: Hotpoint SY10X Oven Timer Dead

    Hello Martin,

The only live testing I’ve done is from the terminal block, which is fine.

I’ve inspected the terminal block, and all the relevant wiring which are all good.

    Good evening Dave,

Returned to cooker a little earlier, and yes, i’m kicking myself!

One of the selector switch contacts flexes, but not making a good contact so switch ordered to rectify.

    Thanks again Dave,

Yes, suspect live or neutral amiss in system, as no power to element.

Perhaps I need to inspect terminal block more closely….

    Good evening Dave,

Yes, power to unit good and i had a look at the terminal block which appears fine, (without links.)

    Something obscure?

    Thanks Kaibart,

I was/am concerned that the motor appears to have been superseded by a slower maximum spin speed.

    Good morning Dave,

    Yes, that makes sense.

No fault codes present, although i don’t know how to “interrogate” the unit’s memory.

Will return and check the above.

Thanks for your quick reply Martin.

The impeller rotates freely, although i don’t have another reed switch in case the new one happens to be faulty.

Really struggling with this problem, and may have to refer to manufacturers.

Re: NEFF S41M63N1GB Dishwasher Aborting Cycle

    Good afternoon,

I’ve just replaced the reed switch, but the problem remains.

On a wash cycle, brief drain, fill, washes for between one and two minutes, before draining and aborting cycle.

Any thoughts chaps… control module suspect?

    Thanks Dave,

That makes sense, as flow meter did seem to be operating for too long.

Will report back in due course.

    Thanks chaps,

I’ll return and test the reed switch.

Does you feel i’m looking in the right area for this problem?

Do you know if it can be conclusively tested with an Ohms meter?

    Thank you,
