Re: Advice on W/Machine, good quality, quiet

I have a basic 1200 spin w/m myself, here at home. Its very quiet, far quieter than even the better Boschs or Siemans.
Bottom line is all Miele w/m are quiet.
However one thing to note…. if your going to get a Miele and its one of the 10yr g/tee honeycomb jobbies…be quick. I am reliably informed that they are stopping the 10 yr g/tee and going back to 5 yr only.

Re: Waste Disposal Unit – ‘In sink erator – Model 55.1’

Waste disposals are a doddle, and easy money no question.
Spares are no problem…it usually is only micorswitches for the batch feed types or fingers for the continuous types.

Put it this way..yes they have grown and gotten big, but having seen some of their invoices their callout fees make even any of the manufacturers in our game look small.
But then, if they can make a success out of it what does it matter to me…but I wouldnt have them do work for me.

    Re: Bosch WFK 2801.

To put the machine in diagnostic mode.. make sure all buttons unlit, and dials to off m(selection).Press the prewash button and the start buttons and turn on the machine. To set it to a test programme, turn selector switch to requred setting and press start.

When you first activate the diagnostic mode
you should get a number displayed in the 7 segment display, this will be the last recorded fault. If you can get that then I can help you with the fault indicator (as have access to quickfinder)

    Re: Bosch WFK 2801.

Have you run its diagnostic program? If so what did the last fault listed show?

As for these power boards… I have replaced quite a few. The early ones were quite weak whereas the newer ones are better.

I have a simple response to the lady(usually) on the phone…I ask her if her husband goes to work for nothing?. It always stops the arguement.

Re: Whirpool knobs out of sync

I have checked that the inner ring is correctly mounted on the timer shaft, and there is no distortion of the plastic follows the timer . The main user contact knob is also seated in the inner ring correctly as well, which is why I moot the query on the timer shaft going out of sync.
But dont think I didnt appreciate your help.

the knob is a push in and turn clockwise fit into the dispenser cam which is
held on the D shaped timer shaft by means of a nut. To remove knob rotate it about 45 degrees anti clockwise and pull it out, to refit to its correct position remove lid and hold dispenser cam to prevent it from rotating while you insert the knob into cam, lining the lugs up and rotate it
clockwise to its stop position, I’d check for correct alignment by setting knob to a drying position and hopefully machine will tumble dry. A little
dab of silicone on side walls of knob will help avoid same problem occuring again once it sets. Hth

Thanks m8, but the problem is that the indicated program point is out, but the whole knob assy is correctly positioned within itself. It looks very much as if the timer shaft spline has somehow rotated out of sync, but to a limited and still fixed position.

What puzzles me is that this isnt the first case of this I have seen on this model, and all exactly the same fault symptoms and appearance.

    Cheers

    Re: Bosch SGS4012GB/07

Probably the nut just needs titghtening, but easy to get at the softenor.
I find removal of lid and side panels first, followed by the lower front shaped panel, pull the spring mounts out of the base points, remove the front base fixing screws (I assume you have remove the rears when you took the side panels off) .Then unclip the wiring harness guide, then pull the base away, but carefully and not too much either.

    Softenor is there and accesible.

When playing with these dishwashers, just remember most of the goodies inside use the base for fixing or holding in place, and pay special attention to the float switch by the softenor as it breaks real easy.

One last thing, I always do it on their backs having put it like that once lid, side panels and rear base fixing are off.
