ParticipantI had the same problem although managed eventually with molegrips. There was also some information about colour code which i could not understand. I assembled as i thought and it worked fine. I later reordered another set of springs for stock and to see if there was something missing from the first pack. It was identical. Is anyone able to shed some light onto this?

ParticipantI am sorry Dave but i didn’t. It looked a bit complicated and with too many questions to ask the seller. I’ve done a temporary repair with instructions only to use the oven when around the kitchen. Thank you for the info.

ParticipantThankyou both for the advice. If i remember correctly, in the mid 70ies Neff and AEG used to use heat fuses called Microtemps. Later on in the mid 80ies both companies stopped using these fuses and the spare became obsolete so we were instructed by Neff to just short the fuse out by bypassing it. By the mid 90ies they started using non resettable over heat klixons., which sometime open circuited when the element blew.
Is Karl Ulrich still the service manager of BSH?
i will contact BSH and if no joy maybe Which consumer magazine. The manufacturer of the Klixon is Kema Keur. i wonder if they are still in business. i will let you know. I feel its wrong of them to stop suppling parts like this. What a waste of money for customers and bad for the environment!kevinlewis
ParticipantI discovered that you need to slide your hand under the element , lift and push it towards the front of the oven until it clears the holes in the metal plate.
kevinlewis
ParticipantYes, its at the base of the top oven. I’m wondering if it slides out with the metal plate which it protrudes through. I will go and have another look? Thanks for the part number.

I’ve never asked how to remove an oven element. didn’t want to waste time in the customer’s house . Thought it best just to ask on here.kevinlewis
ParticipantCan you top up these models with a couple of litres of water or does it need to enter via the flow meter where the water enters.
kevinlewis
ParticipantThanks Dave. I took the integrated door and bottom plynth off but did not remove it from the housing to get to the heater. I didn’t want to remove the machine until i had ran this fault past yourselves in case it was a common pcb fault. Thanks again.

ParticipantRe: Important Changes To Engineer Search
I am struggling with Advanced search. you advise to put a + before a word that you want to include. so if you want three words eg +neff+oven+door i seems to only get neff and it ignores the other two words. could someone give an example of how to use this search please.
