    Re: A Radical Thought

I totally agree with you Alex, I get more than I bargained for from the £60 and have trust in the organisation to put it to good use.

Now if it was overflowing can you set me up with a nice pension!

The latest machine comes with a welded plastic drum so you have to change complete drum, bang goes your profit.

After many years of coat hangers and under the tap I now use my small portable hand steamer I fit a hose on the end and SHOVE it up! I then pull the tube of the pressure switch and let it flow back down to clear any debris that is left. Not had a call back yet! started doing it yesterday.

    Re: Help Yourself First

Just to put the other side as I am one that has not signed up, and I do get annoyed at peoples lack of response when in anything they are to busy or whatever not to but only grab their bit.

Free training well nothing is free I do not have the time to take up this offer due to my present work load, I find sending eng on courses which is nessessary apart from the cost sets me back so much in workload. I appreciate we can all learn and it could give a different perspective and save money?

By the way I did fill in the post codes and members charter about a year ago faxed it and never saw a thing!

I don’t sell new machines but of course could repair them, but untill I know the product I will not put my name to it and you seem to want to keep it a secret! if its so good let everyone know.

The big problem in life only a few will try the rest just keep quite. How many members actually get involved to make this site work they all know how good it is for them but are just sheep.

If a member did swear at David kick him out!

    Re: dishwasher maintenance using vinegar

Washing up liquid is a totally different problem as with it over foaming it will get everywhere, I can not see vinegar getting into it unless other problems exist.

Saying it may damage seals is highly unlikely it is a cufull with a full tank of water so it is well diluted at least 20/1.

The simple thing is we agree to disagree.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the water going through the softner is not that that is already in the machine so it can’t affect it?

Just a simple question how would a cupfull of vinegar put in the D/W at the start of a cycle upset the water softener?

    Re: dishwasher maintenance using vinegar

You may well find that acetic acid isn’t as technically good as some of the products produced for doing the job but I personally prefer a little vinegar down my drains than all the produced chemicals.

Also Ken you are in a soft water area and don’t see these results you may know of it,remember I am also from Glasgow and have seen both.
Down south Dover you can’t get much harder water than this.

I have also been on the detergent training and I know what they are pushing,
we are the ones out there seeing the results.

    Re: Powder detergent blocking drains

Down here in the south with hard water and soap powder the waste pipes get continually blocked by it and these are not connected to sinks,it is a good number for plumbers.
The biggest culpret is low temp washes as the soap doesn’t seem to disolve enough and it does not have to be cheap powders the worst I find is one of the big names.

    Re: dishwasher maintenance using vinegar

I have been recommending vinegar in DW for over 20 years and it does a brilliant job, it cleans out all the grease around the doors and pipework, in these hard water area’s it gives everthing a lovelly shine.
So if you haven’t used it don’t knock it unless you have proof it is detrimental to any of the components in the appliance, I will cntinue recommending it and a cup full of washing soda in the washing machines, it gets rid of the bad odours and congealed soap powders black goo on door rubbers from all these 40 degree washes.

Re: Delonghi DFS901ss oven selector switch

They have modified the wiring on the switch so the load does not melt that great quality Bakealite that they don’t use.

To change complete harness takes about 40 mins no doubt there will be some much quicker.

The part number for switch only from connect is 5031685210748 about £22 + Vat. The other is with new Modified wiring harness so they don’t burn out.

    Re: Laying fridges flat?

I disagree with an earlier comment about laying it on its Highpressure side as any residue left in the pipe will pump straight into the filter/drier.

Laying on the suction side you can virtually switch them on straight away, though it is sensible to leave them standing to let all the oil back into compressor.
