Re: Fisher&Paykel GW611 Washer error codes.

F+P hold the copyright for the fault codes, they cannot be posted anywhere other than the secure service area on the F+P website.

The fault is a motor stall fault 10001000. Replace the stator and see what happens. Usually it is the motor controller that is faulty, but with the dodgey stator, I would try this first. 🙂

Turn machine OFF on the front panel. Hold down the Water Temp Down button and press the POWER button. Release buttons. You are in Diagnostic mode. Press the spin speed up button until the hold and slow are lit. Write down the LEDS which are lit across the top row of progress LEDS. This is muck quicker than posting everything 😉 .

Re: Fisher Paykel Smart drive 053

There should be a spring between the drum and the front LH suspension rod. Reach between the top and the drum and you should feel it. Also chek the drum is springing up and down in all 4 corners of the WM, if not, then pull up on the drum in the affected corner and the drum should drop into position.
Try this and let us know how you get on. 😉

    Re: cold water problems

Turn the power off at the wall, remove the top console, and the cold valve is the one on the L H side. You will have to remove the motor controller, and the fill chamber which both valves sit in. The seal that seals the valve in the fill chamber needs to be removed and fitted to the new valve.

Let us know how you get on 🙂

Re: Kelvinator / Fisher & Paykel – Smart Drive 051

Turn off power at wall. Remove the inspection hatch on the front rh cnr ( if the W/M has one, if not, just tilt the W/M back ), shine a torch in and give the small propellor on the bottom of the drain pump a couple of turns, if it at first feels tight, keep turning until it feels free, then advance to spin and start.

If this doesn’t work, undo the 2 screws at the front of the top( under the little covers) tilt the top back being careful with the inlet hoses, having previously removed the agitator. Then unclip the plastic ring around the top and hang it to the side or disconnect spring( remember to refit spring ) from suspension. Then in one swift upward movement (not too swift) remove the inner bowl, and then you will see the pump cover. Remove the screw clamping it down and remove cap and base, now get your hand in and feel around the impellor on the top of the pump , and remove any foreign matter. Try propellor on bottom of pump to check if it is free before reassembling.

    Read instructions backwards to refit

If the fault continues then the motor controller is probably faulty.
    Hope this helps. 😉

Re: my 051 smart drive problems 🙁

It sounds like the ‘size’ circuit on the display board is faulty. It doesnt know if it is a 5, 6, or 7 kg W/M. Replace the display board. 😀

    Re: cold water problems

Replace the cold water valve if the filters are clear, 1x filter inside valve, just take hose off back and pull filter out of valve, and there should be a filter in the tap end of the hose. P/n 426143 for cold valve

Multiply your pound by 2.5 and you roughly get that in NZ dollars, you can get a nice detatched 3 bdrm house on a 1/4 acre section in a mid sized town for $200,000 NZD(about 70,000 sterling). Think about it!!! 🙂

    Re: Fisher Paykel 051

This code relates to a pump circuit fault, but in the earlier version of smart drive.
Congratulations to you on repairing the board, dry joints and basic component replacement is about the extent of my electronic ability.too many little pieces 😯

Phidom, you should try again. They’re crying out for qualified tradesmen here, pay rates are going up all the time, there is plenty of work. Very rosey indeed.
The main reason I am going is it will be a great experience for the kids (and theres the $80k+ per yr 😀 , but thats beside the point……). Not cheap to do, but well worth it for the change.

    Re: Fisher Paykel 051

It sounds to me like you have more problems in the controller. That fault code says there is a communication error between the motor controller and the display module. Replace with a rebuilt motor controller 🙁 from a local parts supplier (cheaper than an F+P board)

    Re: F & P Smartdrive 051 – very slow to fill.

If the valve when set to cold wash makes a whooshing noise then the valve is faulty. But first check the inlet filters, remove the cold hose, at the tap end there should be a mesh filter attached to a rubber washer. Clean and refit, making sure the mesh is pointing into the tap. There is also a filter in the valve. Look in the valve itself from the back of the WM and you will see a plastic mesh filter, remove with longnose pliers, clean and refit.
Try this and let us know how you get on. 😉

If you cant bring up a fault code, let us know what is wrong with the WM, and we will try and help from there. 🙂
