No worries, and thanks for the feedback 😀

Re: fisher & paykel dish drawer

I will assume that it is displaying an F1 fault, as this is the most likely cause. Check in instruction book to verify.

The best thing to do is turn the power off and remove the plug, remove the bottom drawer by pushing in the clips on side of the drawer ,just below the round plugs. The clips are attached to runners, push them back to release the drawer and ( after taking out the rack and spray arm) put the drawer on its r.h.side. Mop up the all water in the base, then remove the cover that goes over the back L.h. corner, this will expose the mains/flood switch board ( make sure you dry the roof of the drawer before you take the cover off , or water can drip onto the board …..not a good thing!!!) 👿 .

To remove the cover, push in the clip in the middle front edge of the cover with a flat blade screwdriverand slide the cover foward a bit, then put the screwdriver under the clip and twist up, the cover should now pull off to the right. Spend a couple of minutes drying the board with a hair dryer and mop up any remaining water ( be careful of the board again). Refit the cover and switch back on ( you shouldn’t need to force the cover on, just slide it on from right to left , but you may have to push down the cover just above the clip to get it to lock once it is located correctly). If it doesn’t F1 again ,all good, if it does , remove cover and redry, and repeat until it doesn’t.

To refit drawer, slide out L.h. rail and sit drawer on it, then lift right side of drawer and slide out other rail and sit other side down. If the rails don’t want to slide foward and lock, lift the drawer at the front while sliding the rail fowarduntil the front edge of the rail is just at the clipping gap at the side of the drawer, then make sure the drawer is sitting down firmly on the rails and pull clips foward to lock. If the drawer has been clipped in correctly it will slide in and out nicely, if not , look at the back edge of the drawer when it is fully open to see where it is sitting too high and rectify by refitting the rail on the affected side/sides. By this point if any part of the bottom drawer was broken ,you would have seen it. Also check the top drawer by releasing it and pulling it foward, shine torch in and have a good look 😯 .

Hopefully it won’t leak again unless there is a faulty part not visible to the naked eye, check by running one drawer for a couple of minutes, stop the cycle and open the drawer and check the outsides for water ( don’t be too worried if you see water in the bottom between the drawers as it will drip from the roof, unless the drain or fill hoses are split ) ,if ok, run the other drawer and check.

Remember, if you get to a point where you don’t feel confident with what you doing or you think you might break something, leave it and call a professional to do the job, you may save money in the long run and if you going to expose wires or connections always switch off and unplug before removing the cover, you dont know whats underneath.

    I hope this helps someone.
    😉

in reply to: F&P GW509 bowl full #157984

    Re: F&P GW509 bowl full

First make sure the W/m is empty. The problem is the size has not been set. To set the size switch turn the power on at the power point and off at the console. Press and hold the
TEMPERATURE UP button then press the POWER button. Smartdrive will give 4 short beeps and the
    pattern of LEDs will change.

    • Press TEMPERATURE UP button, the COLD LED is on for 5-5.5kg (560mm wide).
    • Press WATER LEVEL UP button, the LOW WATER LED is on for 6-6.5kg (600mm wide).
    • Press SPIN SPEED UP button, the SPIN HOLD LED is on for 7-7.5kg (650mm wide).
    • Press POWER to exit this mode. 😉

Re: F&P Smart Drive 051 won’t fill cold water

If the Motor Controller has been changed from one size machine, to another then the size switch settings in the memory will have to be reset. Entering and exiting the Option Adjustment mode can do this in phase 2 and 3 washers. Push and hold START/PAUSE then push POWER button to enter Option Adjustment Mode. This sets the size into EEPROM.
If the Display module has just been inserted into a console housing check that the two size switch plungers accurately locate onto the console housing. If this fault has appeared during normal operation of Smartdrive check the size switch or replace the Display module.
It is possible that it won’t store due to a fault in the display board. Pull it apart and check for corrosion. 😉

I would agree with my tuxedoed friend, price a new motor controller and find out if they will take it back if it doesn’t fix the problem. 8)

Re: F&P Smart Drive 051 won’t fill cold water

😯 Set your peepers on this, chief:
    1. Select the OPTION ADJUSTMENT MODE by pressing and holding the START/PAUSE button, then pressing the POWER button.
    2. Use WASH TEMPERATURE buttons and LEDs to select the temperature
setting to be adjusted, i.e. Cold, Cold/Warm, Warm, Warm/Hot, Hot.
    3. Use the ADVANCE button and WASH PROGRESS LEDs to increase or
decrease the temperature. Each time the ADVANCE button is pressed, the
WASH PROGRESS LEDs will advance one position to the right. This
increases the temperature by approximately 1oC. When the spin LED is on and the ADVANCE button is pressed, the spin LED will go off and the left hand (long wash) LED will turn on. This is the coldest setting. The setting can then be advanced through again to achieve the required temperature.
    4. Select the next temperature range to be changed with the WASH
TEMPERATURE button. Repeat Step 3. Each Temperature range can be
    adjusted using this method.
    5. To return the machine to Normal operation, press the POWER button.

This adjustment is only avaliable for GW model smartdrives 😉
Only the warm can be altered on MW models 🙁

If your WM has ever had a new disply then it may have been replaced with a GW display. I do this as they are the same price, and it saves carrying around heaps of different boards.

If it is flashing on deep rinse and the H + C lights are flashing, it is the cold valve that needs replacing.
    Check it out 8)

Please post only the light sequence which relates to the hold and spin lights, it make our job so much easier. Dont press advance before spin up, as this is for earlier models only. 😀

Re: F&P SmartDrive GW603 Washing Machine Slow Water Fill

If the hoses havent been swapped, then the cold valve is faulty. This usually has a hissing/whooshing noise when filling. Easy to replace, just remember to take the seal off the old valve and fit it to the new one before refit it into the mixing chamber.
    Happy fixin’ 😉

Re: F&P 501 Fault – Spin Light On

Turn machine OFF on the front panel. Hold down the Water Temp Down button and press the POWER button. Release buttons. You are in Diagnostic mode. Press the advance button once, then press the spin speed up button until the hold and slow are lit. Write down the LEDS which are lit across the top row of progress LEDS. 😉
