KeymasterRe: SARENA Dishwasher (who makes them?)
It’s either a Fagor or a Brandt in disguise, probably a Fagor and spares can be gotten from Dave, spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk or service in warranty from Anglo Iberian Service on 01245-320992.

KeymasterRe: Franchise Field Service Engineer?
Alex,
In the situation that you describe you’re better off being a paid employee as oposed to a “franchise” engineer. Also bear in mind that most contracts in this industry are for a start low paid, but more than that tend to have a three month termination which, in effect, is termination with little or no notice at all so there’s very little security. Certainly far less security than being an employee as if the rules change, the management plan changes or the work dries up then you’re out on a limb.
Then think on the startup costs, you’ll need a van, stock etc to get you going and, given the low rates on offer, the payback time is lengthy indeed before you actually start to make a profit on it if indeed you ever do. The most recent example is Merloni offering franchises that just couldn’t pay, some of the guys on here took them on and, to my knowledge, most of them have dropped it as not being viable to sustain.
As to ten calls a day, that’s almost standard as you need at least eight complete a day to sustain an engineer generally where they are employed and many get more than that dependent on the area etc. Some of the Merloni/Hotpoint engineers are known to be being issued with 15 or more calls per day.

KeymasterActually that was Dave and I that set that one up. 😉

KeymasterRe: Service Power?
Well, after all the shennanigans with JT and NESN as well as what he did and said to me personally I would NEVER, EVER trust the man again. Then what he did to the agents was just, IMO, utterly disgusting and some of his legacy remains with NESN, which I suspect is partly why they can’t shake the problem, in the form of certain contract clauses.
One day I’ll be at liberty to tell the rest of the sad tale and there is more to it than even the short novel in the Rumour Mill but for the moment I am forced to keeping stumph.
But I’m with Rudi on this one even though I have no knowledge really of Service Power or experience of them or of David Brock, it’s just not worth it with JT involved in the project. Also, from what we can gather the mailshots have been “selective” ignoring those that would or will find out and cause trouble maybe? What does that tell you?

KeymasterRudolph is one of UKW’s secret weapons Martin.
Dave, Kevin and I know who he is but nobody else (bar Rudi of course) does or will know as has requested that we keep that information entirely confidential, which we have to respect. NESN amongst others have, repeatedly, tried to find out who Rudi is and they just won’t as there’s only four people that know who it is.

KeymasterRe: Humbling
I’d already been thinking on it Mark, I actually have bitof information on it but I’ve not as yet had the time to actually do anything about it. 😕
Yes, I think we should discuss the subject a bit and my thought, as Dave knows at least, was to support the BBC’s Children In Need charity as it does a lot of good here as well as abroad as well as being a very highly respected cause.

Very wise move, but not really good enough.

KeymasterOh and a little birdy tells me that this is David Brock (ex-Powerhouse) and Mr Trubshaw as well that are doing this in the UK. You also have to buy spares from Nedis or SEME so it fits.
Good luck to anyone that goes to work for Mr Trubshaw, I will not be going there.

KeymasterRe: Service Power?
Yes, I have seen it, right before I was flying almost and I had a few other things on my mind at the time.
They are looking to expand into the UK service market across both brown and white and I have some details of what’s on offer but honestly, unless it’s purely inspection work, I’m not at all impressed at the rates on offer for the service level required.

Thanks Martin but the only time I want a weapon in my hands these days is during the odd meeting! :rotfl:
Just chilling out a bit, but man I was SO drunk last night, really must stop that.

In California smoking is a no-no, here it’s fine.
Dunno, it’s supposed to be a great show and at $100 not that expensive to see really. I’ll let you know how it is.
Need to go see something else, no idea what yet though.

KeymasterSH,
I’d be keen to hear your ideas.
The top three are Electrolux, Whirlpool and Merloni as stated but beyond that I’d have to refer back to stuff in print for you when I get back to the office. Or at least in Europe that’s the top three and it depends on how wide you’re casting the net.

KeymasterRe: Where’s kwatt
Apparently I’m a c**t. Go figure.
Well update, arrived in Las Vegas, the home of… well most things really that have anything to do with not being politically correct, which is nice.
So I had a bento box for lunch, not the best but hey, I can deal but the Wasabi in LA was better but there’s a new sushi bar to check out, that’s for when we get sober again.. probably on Sunday. 😆
Okay, so we went to a bar we like tonight and drank a shitload, got chatted up by these two black girls that gave us free tickets to a topless show which was great, but the show was pretty crap. Nice birds though that were dancing, seriously cute asses.
Oh and Alex, we’re off to see Elton at Caesar’s on Sunday night as well. Well, I had to really, we’re here! 😀
It’s a hard life! :rotfl:

KeymasterYeah I’ll get back in to the UK just fine as a benefit as I both smoke and drink as well as work… I am too much of a benefit to Gordon Brown not to get back in! 😆
I shouldn’t have shown as logged in all day Martin, just a fair chunk of it as I was around a bit today, felt very lethargic truth be told. Either that or Craig has logged in from my workstation whilst using the net as it jumps straight to UKW.
